Monday Sept. 27th. Raining in night and although fair in the Morning rained very hard. Several showers during the day. Went down for meat. Got s.s. collection ready to take down to-morrow and slips ready to send away Rally Day money. Went down after dinner for the Mail. Wrote a long letter to Mr. Phillips & did some Physical Culture exercises. Walked five miles. Finished my centrepiece working at it 1½ hours. Padded my new tray cloth border, working at it 1½ hours. Tuesday Sept. 28th. Fine day. Charles and I dug potatoes for 3/4 of an hour before breakfast. Then I worked at the potatoes from 9.30 until 12 - finished taking them up and picked up a wheel barrow full. After dinner I went down town for the Mail and at then put new knob on my typewriter roller. At 4.p.m. Dorothy and I went with Mr. & Mrs. Bell and Jean for a drive out into Bentinck. I did not know there was such beautiful Scenery near Chesley. Hills & Lakes, and woods. Passed through Crawford
