were out walking. Wrote to Mrs. Lenore Carter and to Irene Frazier. Dorothy went over to Halliday's to play bridge with Alicia, Jean Johnson and Viola Mair. Started to knit at Dorothy's skirt, at 9.20 p.m. Mr. McNeel phoned Charles & me to go down to Bijou and see Navy League pictures. We went. Raining when we got home. Charles went over to Halliday's with an umbrella for Dorothy. Tuesday Oct. 5th. Cool. Went down for meat. Knit 4½ inches on Dorothy's skirt. Walked 7 ½ miles out to Scone - North to Ravell Park - West to Neil Moore's corner then South to McManus corner and home. Went around to Mrs. Beattie's to order bulbs (not in) Dorothy and I went to Bijou to see Sessue Hayakaka {Sessue Hayakawa} in Wednesday Oct. 6th. Fine day. Went down town for meat. Wrote 3 letters and did some copying for Charles. Went to Mrs. Beattie's and Mrs. Green's (both out) Mrs. Beattie came over after dinner and I ordered bulbs.
