Monday Oct. 11
Raining a good part of day. Showers. Took Mr. Green's statement in short-hand and typed it (8 pages) and took it down to the office. Came home and then went back down for some biscuits. Knit 15 rows (about 2 inches) on Dorothy's skirt. Now 17 ½ inches long, while Dorothy studied Bridge & chess problems.
Tuesday Oct. 12th.
Beautiful day. Knit 15 rows on Dorothy's skirt. Went down town after dinner for the Mail (with Dorothy) Worked in the garden for an hour planting tulips, and Dorothy helped and then went to pick apples. While I explore the back garden with the spade for the bulbs Mr. Clifton trenched (?). Then went down town to get more bulbs. Met Myrle Safana (who is home visiting) and her baby girl. (very Swarthy & Frenchy). Put in a few more bulbs when I came home and after tea spent the whole evening until 11.45 p.m. getting letters ready to send
