Thursdat Jan. 27th. Read "Joan of Arc" by Andrew Lang, & in "Story of Frances." Typed a Resolution for Charlie and Oliphant Honour Roll for Charles. Wrote to Dorothy, Clare and Mrs. Engel. Nice day - not cold at all. Called to see Mrs. McLean but did not go in as had a bad night. Then went to see Mrs. Leslie. Made lemonade for Charles. He went to see Mr. J.B. Campbell who is sitting up now. Still no word about Mr. Ryan. Alice gave me a nice petticoat she made for me. Did some French. Read "Joan of Arc" in "Great Events" by Famous Historians. Mended rug in front of fireplace. Friday Jan. 28th. Beautiful day. Milder. Went to the office in the Morning. Took dictation for 1½ hours. After dinner typed for 2 hours and took letters to the office. Had a walk. Duncan came up in the evening and we played Seven Up. Mr. Caldwell went to Hanover to hockey match which Chesley won 8-7.
