Friday Feb. 25th.
Did not go to sleep until after 3 a.m. and got up at 6.30 a.m. as Mrs. Start came down on the early train to have dress fitted. Went to Miss Milne's with her and while she was being fitted worked at the office. After dinner Mrs. Start went back to Miss Milne's and was to phone me when she got through. I was very busy at the office until 6.30 p.m. Mrs. Start did not get through until after six and went up with Charlie for tea. I was invited to a shower for Cassie Pollock at Mrs. J.H. Elliot's but did not go for fear Mrs. Start would return. Duncan up as usual. Wrote to Dorothy and to Clare. Stormy day and fairly cold. The pain in my side which was bad last night did not bother me much today. Called at Tuer's after dinner to enquire for Mr. Tuer and to give him Gertie Cass' letter.
