Jan 1st 1920 (Thursday) Was busy all morning preparing for the annual dinner party. All the family came out. The baby (Bill.) Got very stormy in the afternoon. Had conundrums and favors for each of the guests. Played games with the children until 6.p.m. Got Mr Beattie to drive mother home about 5.30 p.m. Mr and Mrs Jenkins (New H. S. teacher) called and Clarence Halliday came over to say good bye. Spent the evening clearing up and trying to fix a costume for Dorothy for her masquerade dance next night. Dorothy went down to a dance at Bicher's Hall to dance the old year out. Had a sore knee. Write out my S. S. cards.
Jan 2nd (Friday) Was busy all day preparing for D's dance. Was like a moving day. Duncan came up to help decorate. Lights shaded with tissue paper (Green & red) and streamers confetti boxes fixed in electric light fixtures. Duncan stayed for dinner and until about 4 o'clock. Very stormy. Margaret
