January 8. (Thursday.)
Nice mild day. Rose at ten minutes to seven. Was typing , taking letters and having dinner until 1.30 p.m. Mrs. McGregor came up to see if all her money were {lost?} (Got the idea from a letter asking her to call at the office to endorse a $6 interest cheque so it could be deposited) and I wrote to Miss McNaughton and Agnes Anderson for her. This being Mother's birthday I went down town, purchased a book for her and went up to see her. Shovelled some snow when I came home. After tea Duncan came up. I wrote to Dorothy and Clare and Duncan took them (the letters) to the post office for me. Charles went to the prayer meeting in the Methodist Church (week of prayer.)
January 9. (Friday)
Wrote some letters for Charles, then took them to the office and got some meat. Did some school work. After dinner went to call on Mrs. Wm. King. Found her sitting up in her room. I was there Mrs Chris King, Mrs. B.D. Halladay, Mrs C. Ankennman and
