1920.
Mrs. Tuer and Alice sent me candies. Mrs. Tuer's was a chocolate bun and Alice sent a box of conversational lozenges. Storming quite hard. Started after dinner and when I got home there was a great drift in the path especially at the Foot of the Step. Timmy Ryan was here and he shovelled it out before he went home. Quite mild, however, and I should not wonder if it changes to rain. Read a chapter of "The Clash."
February 10 (Tuesday)
Finished "The Wild Geese" by Stanley J. Weyman. Practised an hour. Went down for the Mail before dinner. Typed some papers for Alice (a contest - things found on a cent) Also typed Dorothy's story "And in Conclusion" to send to Young's Magazine for her. Went down for "The Globe". Telephoned Nell to wish her "Many Happy Returns of the Day." Says the Fen is very bad in winter. Perhaps we may have Dorothy come home. After tea went to a party at Alice's (given for Miss {Brownlee?}) Had a good time. Charles got home from Walkerton
