Tuesday from Detroit but did not see her father as they were afraid of the excitement for him if even knowing she was in Hanover. Went to the Recital in the Misses Hahn's study. (Charlie and Alice had received tickets from Miss Hahn and wanted us to go to the Recital with them. So, upon hearing of Mr. Engel's death, we left a half an hour earlier to allow time to call on them.) Prof. Viggo Rihl was the pianist and he was wonderful. Saw Mrs. Miller and the Hahns and found Mr. Workeman there. He came home with us in the car. They served sandwiches and coffee at the close of the programme and we got home about 11 p.m. Quite cool coming home. May 28th. Friday. cool this morning. Knee somewhat better. Went down for meat in the morning and to Miss Milne's to take my suit blouse in to be fixed as sleeves do not fit. put in some flower seeds in the afternoon. Went down town to give Charlie birthday present for Alice whose birthday is tomorrow. Charlie not there so gave it to Alice who promised not to open it until tomorrow.
