Nell telephoned in evening to say that Doug. Nickle had a letter from her saying she would be there this week. Went up to see Mother. Called to enquire for Mr. Kyle. Went in to see Mrs. Leitch and then went to enquire for Mrs. Irvine. As she wanted to see me I went in. She is very very ill. Duncan was up in the evening. I wrote to Mrs. Luton, Mrs. Blair and Miss Small. Saturday April 16th. Cold and stormy. Quite a lot of Snow fell. Was out at 8 a.m. to show Mr. Phillips what to do in the garden but he could only work a short time as the weather got bad.
