Sunday May 22nd. Showery and thundery all day. Julius and I went to Church in the Morning and to S.S. A Meeting of teachers after S.S. Just at church time severe thunder storm was on. We did not go to Church. Charlie came up after Church and about 9.30 a telephone message from Dick said they had got a telegram saying Frank had gone. Monday May 23rd. Went up to see Mother in the Morning. Resigned to have Frank go that he may not suffer longer. Funeral is to be in Chesley. Wrote quite a number of letters for Charlie after dinner. (Planted my Morning glories and butterfly flowers before dinner.) Margaret and I walked down to Mr. William Elliot's Mill via Mill Street and came home via Long Street.
