== JULY TUESDAY 18 1876 == Go to Tannery at 730 A.M. Take Boat at 11 for Toronto to see T.P. & Co. take Statement of Leather - sold & shipped from Feby 3rd to July 1st, 1876. T.P. & Co. weigh up Stock in store. C.P. says after adding all up, the Stock shows $1000 over what is Charged against the Tannery, but this does not include the profits what the Tannery has made. CP tells me to wait over till tomorrow P.M. I go to Hewitt & get new pair shoes dont pay him for them. Scadding & I go out this Eve'g at 10½, sit & talk with D Milloy till 12 A.M. == JULY WEDNESDAY 19 1876 == Get up at 7½, go to TP&Coy see Rutledge. He tells me the losses for past 6 mos will eat up profits CP tells me they cant buy me any money, at present, will pay me the 1st of Augt, will give me as usual my $100 per month, & will give me every dollar of my profit on next 1st Jany, they give me 1 Cheque dated 20th for $2849 for Hides - 1 Do dated 26th for $7056 for Car of Coal in May last. - They give me a memo. of the quanitity of Leat {leather} they have on hand in Toronto, & say they will send me Balance sheet by Saturday next.
