6 Wordon comes back with msg get back. at 5. Expenses $3.50, laudry 40. We all go to Catholic concent, Ada plays with Mifs Allison, get home at 11. Wife tells me about Warren Claus's second daughter 15 years old having a baby son by Alex McNicken of Manitoba.

January Tuesday 18 1876 Go to Tannery at 8 1/2. take cars for Toronto. {how?} to ridge 50$. ticket to Toronto return 4.25. stop over at Hamilton till 5 25 p.m. Call at Mc {authur's?}. he is not at home, see his horeman, & have talk about lead. I get dinner 50$. meet Donnelly on train also {Luwin Boilm?} maker. We talk pullman car 25$. arrive at Toronto at 7. meet Mrs. Milloy at {American house?}. long talk with her. get up at 7. go to Parsons at 9. they tell me they don't like {illegible}. we have some words over it. I tell hime it isn't 1/2 {rolls?}. Capt{scratched} Dick waits down with me. m get home at 8. I paid letter from TPH enclosing cheque to Balance last month {illegible} at Tannery for $109.18. I sign a note of accomodation at Toronto fir there for $1500 Hauk date. I borrow $10 from {TPHs?} to {living?} me home.

January FRIDAY 21,1876 Donnelly sents {horse Buggy?} for me to go to {SH?}. He can't go. sends Joe Fates to drive me. I meet Lawler in SH & tell him about note due today. He goes with me to the bank & renews his own note. I pay the {dio?} 8.25$. I then talk with {Leromotie?} about last gold {illegible}. I {illegible} tells me Dr. donnely returned to SH today. Lawuler tells me the {souls?} a lot was adverstised & sold for taxes again the paid time. I get home at 2 p.m. & go to Taunney.
