May 7th. Planted Strawberries at Johns. Fine + cool NO rain. First asparagus 175 3x11's sold at {2at?} 150
May 8th Some say there was a white frost this a.m. but no damage {Illegible}. Planted more corn in fear {onehand?} also 4 Rows Cucumber Seed. + filling up strawberries lots dead already.
May 9th. Hoeing. also filling up strawberries lot died at John's they are putting up {Illegible} pipes
May 10th Strong westgales hot + dry + dust blowing every where. turning cooler tonight.
May 11 Windy + very cold. strong west winds.
May 12th. {Coat?} this a.m. white frost. did not see much damage here. some of our bean + corn are up but did not seem to be hurt. some {Illegible} cherries + Plums in blossom{!?} Very heavy frosts back m' the country they say
