Jan 1st. Monday. Rained nearly all last night but turning colder this a.m. Had a goose for dinner John, Edgar Jean, & Baby was up for dinner. Donald had a big head. was out all night so had to sleep all day Grandma did not come to stormy Agnes and we asked Aunt Ida but she has a cold; went out to Vote for Filman and Scott. Very cold tonight will be zero

Jan 3rd. Cold and snowing all day from the North East

Jan 4th Cloudy and getting milder looks like rain was down to see about my battery. they say it is not worth charging only had it a little over a year

Jan 5th Rained last night and cloudy and mild all day. little snow about all gone again.

Jan 6th Mild and cloudy all day the snow all gone and most of the ice gone off the road our road was very bad the children were skating on it. Charlotte skated down to Uncle Johns on Wednesday

the corner gas station said it was 31 below zero Burlington reports 25 below Port nelson 32, and up on Dundas street 35 below some places in northern Ontario as low as 52 one place in New York state 55 below 15 below in New York City the coldest ever recorded.they say Lake Ontario is frozen solid for the first time in 60 years yesterday average in Toronto was 17 below for the 24 hours. the same as yesterday.

Late reports say the lake was not frozen solid. frozen out {four?} miles from Toronto.

Feby 10th not so cold only 10 or 15 below zero this morning. went down town the ice was gone from the lake shore. you could see it way out in the lake. {illegible} some tonight.

Feby 11th Alans Birthday not so cold. but still freezing hard. alas cloudy most of the day. The paper says there is three feet of frost on the found at Hamilton Cemetery.

Feby 18th Sunday, uncle Byron had a stroke last Friday night. hardly know how bad he is {felt?}. weather milder today but cloudy & looks like a storm (not thawing any)

Feby 21st. not quite so cold but below zero yet hot bed manure has been in over a week and cant make a bed it is so cold uncle johns water works {pipe?} frozen up and cant get any water at all.

Feby 27th. Zero or below again this morning In the senior O.H.a Semi finals. Ham. Tigers beat Toronto 5 to 1 - to win the 2 game round 8 to 4 and Niagara Falls beat out West Toronto 4 to 3 in the round Hamilton won the group.

Ordered another car of manure last one froze & heated all out had to hold so long on account of the extreme cold

March 1st Came in like a lamb. The first mild day we have had for five or six weeks thawed a little. but mostly cloudy

Mar 7th cooler & cloudy Hamilton won the Senior 6Ha championship last night beating Niagara Falls in towo straight games. in the finals.

May 9th. Hoeing. also filling up strawberries lot died at John's they are putting up {Illegible} pipes

May 10th Strong westgales hot + dry + dust blowing every where. turning cooler tonight.

May 11 Windy + very cold. strong west winds.

June 2nd. Extreme heat today and Terrible dry strawberry crop {Illegible} done for willing {feat?} and burning up. have had 8 men to pay this week. About 95 today.

June 3rd went for a picnic left about 12 oclock to {Illegible} + {Illegible} to Bellfountain. + Credit Forks. + back by Brampton. 111 mils Hot. + lots of Mosquitoes

June 4th. Warm + dry yet. watered melons + Cukes. on the field. started spraying got 4 or 5 tanks on all Kinds of trouble.

June 5th. Very hot + dry Hoeing + Cultivating

June 6th still hot and dry. 95 in the shade Today they say.

June 7th. Real cool this morning and no Rain. strawberries about shot. but Tomatoes growing good June 7th started spraying again got 2 1/2 tanks on. Pressure tank. blew out again

June 8th. cool again this a.m. planting Late.

June 13th. Picked 32x36 crates SBerries sold 5 at ¢360 4 at ¢350 stopped balance to Toronto sold at 13 at 104, 6 at 430 4 at 400 weather, cool + cloudy.

June 14th. cool this am but warm + windy this afternoon planted out Cauliflowers

June 15. Picked 52 crates SBerries today (Pints) sold 15 at 94 balance at 10 4 getting hot + very dry again. Strawberries going again.

June 16 Sat. a little cooler. no rain yet.

June 17th Sunday fine stayed home all day for a rest.

June 18th. no picking today two thunder showers in the morning and showers all day + still raining at midnight.

June 20th. a nice cool today no picking tieing tomatoes yet There were 66 Liberals elected yesterday 16 Cons. 4 Lib Prog. 1 CCF 1 Indep. 1 uFO. 1 Lib Labor Saskatehewan also {Illegible} the Conserv. down. by big majority.

June 21 Picking berries again sold 24 crates. at $3.00 and about 115 crates to {upton?}.

June 22 Fine + cool. hoeing + Cultivating new Strawberries the 3rd Time hoeing already this season

Jun 23. Fine + warm Picking strawberries putting in freezer for

Uptons. old beds nearly done. already.

June 24th Fair + warm had supper a La Salle Park.

June 26th. Picked {Illegible} this morning. some Showers Took to Jam Factory 48x32 crates.

June 27th. Cleaning hut beds + Hoeing {ete?}. fine + cool.

June 28th. Picking strawberries. 112x32 crates. took them all to uptons. Very warm + dry again. nearly done now

June 29th. Started spraying! Tank on before dinner 3 in afternoon no pressure. Picked First Beans 7x11 qts sold here at ¢100 per {Illegible}. Very hot. About 100 in the shade

June 30th. spraying cherries. also picked sBerries this am. 55x32 qt crates. Very hot again.

July 1st Sunday Very warm home alone all day.

July 2nd not quite so warm. picked 33x32 strawberries and 30 {Illegible} Beans sold beans at 55{4?} + 604

July 3rd Very hot again today. picked our {Illegible} Richmond {cherry?} {crop?}. 10x6 qts. sold 22 1/2 cts

July 4th Picked 21 beans sold 4 at 50{4?} 17 at 40 4. warm + dry.

July 5th. Picking last up strawberries 23x32 5 a few light showers just enough to make the weeds grow.

July 6th. Hoeing new Strawberries 4th time Very warm. another Sprinkle tonight + high wind picked 19 beans soed 32 {to?} 34

July 7th. a little cooler bad storms in the north. started old Strawberry {Illegible}. Have had no Radio since July 4th. Tone control went wrong last Sunday July 1st {Illegible} it July 2nd as our 3 moths fee service was up July 4th.

July 8th. Clear with a cool wind blowing went to Puslinch Lake near Guelph.

July 9th Picked 4x6's staked Tomatoes 3x6's good 1x6 culls got 8 375 here for them picked 35 beans. at 30 4 + 40 4 also 281 {Illegible} {Illegible} {cherries?} 60 4 and also picked first Green pepper sent 12x11 to Toronto. sold 75+85 {netted?} {8?} 7.77.

July 10th Picked {Illegible} cherries 17 {Illegible} Beans Could have sold lots of cherries at 60 4 but holding back think they will be higher

July 11 {Illegible} 12 {Illegible} 11 Green peppers. men finished hoeing old Strawberry {Illegible}.

July 12th. a bright day on beans 63x11's mostly at 30 4 had a thunder shower about 4 PM.

July 13th not much doing picked 17 Beans 33 {Illegible} peppers. also 1st crate of Raspberries. and 5x6's Tomatoes sold here at 100 stuffed pepper + {Toronto?} sold. at 1800 75 4 {Illegible} at 85 4 100 $1.00

July 14th. warm. men hoeing {ete?}. went to the funeral of the Filman girls who were drowned Thursday in the bay got about 5 bags Buckwheat to sow. at {Illegible} 100 per {Illegible}.

July 23rd Had a big day 279 x 11 cherries. 754 75 no 1 Stake tomatos at 65 , 4 - 28 Field at 60 4. 5 culls 254 + stuffed 30 x 6 to 7 cents sold at. 26 x 11 cukes 224 25 x 11 Sweet peppers 754 25 x 11 beans - 254

Dec 20 met two trains this morning mother did not come guess she will be here sure tonight. Roads very icy.

Dec 21 Mother arrived last night. Was certainly glad to see her. The kids could not go to the tain, had to go to Sunday school. concert last night. everybody had a big time last night ( celebrating tii)

Dec 22 Saturday bery busy all day up to Hamilton shopping to get a Christmas tree. mother had some front page write up in yesterday Spectator.

Sunday Dec 23rd. Had a quiet day. Laura & Ken called for a few minutes.

dec 24th. Not very cold a few snow flurries. Roads very icy.

Dec 25th. Some snow last night every thing white this a.m. Weather mild & cloudy. Down to John's fpr the day.

Dec 26th. An awful railroad accident last night about 9:00 at Dundas. Two sections of International Ltd had a rear end collision. 15 dead and 40 injured. Turning very cold today with some snow.

Dec 27. About zero & guess very cold some places. 40 below out west.
