Sun 13 Cloudy looks like rain & did sprinkle Will & Arthur have gone to Idas funeral, its sad to think she had left her children, but God knows best, what is good for each & everyone of us perhaps they will bring them all up stricter than she would. I cannot realize she is gone. Hattie went to the brick Paul went with her. drove Frank. Hattie came over & stayed all night.
Mon 14. looked all day for Marjorie but she did not come. they finished the corn ground then went out at the potato patch got it done & furrowed out & ploughed the Clay patch behind the bees & planted it & cut a lot of wood & mowed the grass & burnt out the brush. I churned 4 lbs 3 oz, I put a band inside of Pauls {coat?} collar
Teu 15 Marjorie came home from Clifton early in the morning Paul went to Camp Marjorie went to Chippewa after her things took Gordon with her. 4 lb 2 oz butter 75, coffee for Jane 25 corn 10 rice 5 Tapioca 5 - 45 - 30 on Pauls overalls.
Wed 16 Marjorie went to McCredies I churned, & put the screen in the pantry window had an awful time getting the old screens off & the dead vines pulled off my window. I papered that place in the kitchen where it had not been on this spring. Arthur planted the potatoes here by the house. Mrs. Riexinger came down at night with Marguerites white dress she gave her for staying with her
Thur 17. I put the wood that Paul cut in the big box washed all day two flannel sheets & my underwear that has been laying around so long. it rained such a beautiful rain I let the hens out but had to run after them a good deal they never went in out of the rain I carried a lot of water so much running away I got wet through twice did all my work in the rain & when I got everything done, it cleared up Hattie over all night. cleared up cold wind changed to north
Friday 18 I washed all the fornoon after dinner I churned Will & Arthur drawing manure I swept the two rooms & cleaned all the boards Hattie & her mother went after Eva & the little girls the little girls were over just as we were going to set down to supper. we had pan cakes. Hattie & Arthur, Eva & the children & our two here in the evening. I had to set sponge & wash the churn.
Sat. 19. I baked bread. 3 custard pies. an apple sauce cake & a pie black currant tarts. had the milking & separating to do. likely turkeys comeing out. I blacked the stove washed the windows cleaned the boards again starched a lot of clothes & ironed some of them. Eva & the girls went after Marjorie to McCredies, brought home some mor{e} lard Gordon hurt his hand
Sun 20 Mr Russ preached his farewell sermon here. Marjorie did not go to church she had a time dressing Gordons hand Eva & the girls were here last night to supper. Arthur took Eva at night to Chippewa church. In the afternoon she walked with Hattie to the brick Frances did not go she came over here with Mary Reavley after dinner Hattie & the girls over in the evening.
Mon. 21. I got the turkey pen fixed & the rueky & her youngones in it. 14 out of 21 eggs then Marjories bees swarmed again & the {patent?} & hive swarmed & went back to the hive I churned at least everyone had a hand in it. Frances & Florence had to work at the butter. Marguerite & Gordon at school Marjorie had a big washing for Marguerite to go to her exam
