Sat. 7. Marg baked bread yesterday I made a custard pie & tarts took down the stove pipe cleaned the chimbly as far as I could reach with a stick. blacked it washed the kitchen windows & ironed. Marg swept the front room & kitchen & drawed water at night watered part of the garden went twice but the barrel would not hold in had to empty it. Paul came home at night. I milked & separated the milk cleaned all the boards when she was drawing the water. Will & Lilly went to Chippewa took 2 doz eggs @ 24 nails & scibblers 5 matches 5 soap 10 cheese 16 candy 2. hot, hot.
Sun 8 Jim Laur to Wills. the girls & Marguerite went to the brick drove Frank. dreadful hot, every day seems to get hotter & so dry. Hattie came over & gave Gordon a Sunday School lesson
Mon 9 Harmers Picnic. all from the other house but Lill went Ethel Miller came the night befor. The children took some flowers to Kay then went to Montagues. Paul went to Sebbets but came back for it sprinkled rain & his man did not go Paul went to Chippewa & over the river got 3 pairs of socks a shirt stud buttons sleeveholders spirel - level. kitt cobblers tools 2 lbs bologna got cooler. I picked a mess of beans at the other house Marguerite went to the other house untill they came home & stayed all night. I mended Pauls black shirt untill after 10. Ethel Miller came back & stayed all night. I churned we eat up the last churning but a little left. Marjorie working on her drawers.
Teu 10. cool north east wind. Arthur ploughing or rolling dont know which Marguerite went to pick berries got home after dinner she pick 3 he gave her 2. Fanny pick 6 he gave her 3. I made a johny cake for dinner Marg & Gordon guarded the cows untill ½ ten they would not eat the flys were so bad she is working on her drawers, Paul gone to McCredies.
11 Wed. Montagues & Marguerite cleaned the school house Mrs. Malinsky & Jennie McKeown went up to see Kay Jenny got 2 lbs butter that I churned today it was nice & hard
Thur 12 I started to fix the pig pen had to clean it out put a floor in it Hattie worked on Marjories waist had to stop on account of the humble bees so I papered the Parliament House
Friday 13 Marguerite & Gordon both went to pick berries got what they picked they got enough for tea I worked worked some more on the pig pen after I washed in the fornoon. (14 They started & cut some oats here by the house.
Sat. 14. took our little stone crock to Aden Dells the jar he kept so long. took 3 doz eggs for Mrs Taylor 25 cts & Maggie McKeowans $1.00 got 2 sacks shred, & 50 lbs bran I swept both rooms & cleaned them made 3 custard pies black currant tarts & little sponge cakes & ironed & churned. Paul came back from McCredies Cook was here to see him I dressed the big coomb hen that layed eggs with no shell Fanny went to Millers with Tom it sprinkled rain
Sun 15 they all went to church. The minister to Wills rained in the night got a nice barrel of water on the east side of the house & a tub dull Marjorie washed & I churned
Mon 16 Marjorie washed & I churned the new school teacher started Fannie came home
Teu 17 Marjorie starching & washing some more I made tarts to take up to Kay. after dinner she & Harrie went to Chippewa. she had 5 lb 1 oz butter @ 24 - 122 - 1 doz eggs 23 came to 145. the whole coal oil 18, sugar 25, tea 15. bread 4 loaves 24 soap 5 salt 5 tanglefoot 5 worm medicine 25, vaseline 5 cheese 17. Paul helping at the other house to start oats
Wed 18 I went up after dinner to see Kay Fannie & I stayed to tea. I churned in the fornoon. Mrs. Riexinger Mrs Flor. called
