Sun Jan 8. Fine day. Moderately cold. Aunt Mattie and I in {illegible} at morning church, an ideal day. I went to evening church. Mon Jan 9. Fine bright and quite cold. Beautiful weather. Tue Jan 10. Fine bright and moderately cold. {Auntie?} and I called at M. Chapmans in the evening. Margaret {Barks?} died Wed Jan 11. FIne but {frosty?} East wind. John Cook called for Church and to tell us of Margarets death. Thur Jan 12. Fine and quite cold but bright. Aunt Mattie and I wnet to Toronto to see Margarets {illegible}. {illegible}. Fri Jan 13. Fine and milder. Willie and I up to the grave yard to meet the funeral. Sat Jan 14. Fine but a very cold wind {illegible} quite {illegible} but a little ice Willie called {sign?} a {paper?}. I went to meet {illegible} got three pounds of sausage. 10 cents a pound. Sun Jan 15. Fine but very high wind. did not go to morning Church. This month has been wonderful weather -no storm or snow here of any account. Mrs Davidson and I at evening Church. Very frosty. Mon Jan 16. Fine bright and a little milder. We did not {illegible}. Tue Jan 17. Fine and not so frosty. Aunt Mattie and I in Toronto she got her watch. a new {watch manufacturer?} {150?} I let my {illegible} of {mathew?}.
