January 1, 1863 Mr James Cameron Island New Years Day Firing with the Pistol wind changed at 12 or 1 oclock this morning West By north and by south West about 6 O Clock Went around the Island cut Down 2 Oaks that was dead Feeding the cattle Well 2nd A Very fine Day seen a 2 canoes Fishing EEls made the Bed in the Kitchen 3rd Went to Dundee George Greaves & Gabriel Got in Horses Going for Fish Allens Birth Day Jim went to Cornwal for Baker & Frank Mrs Mayville a young one Last night Races on the ice to Day at Normans Bought of Norman 1/2 lb saleratus paid this sweetys -/1 nothing on credit got Baker to take 5 sheep allowing 15 dollars for them Witnefs to a note John M cBean Gave for 100 Dollars Bought of Baker 1 lb of cut tobacco to be paid got a Whippletree iron of the end from Bill Brought home the mits Got some papers from Bill Old Mrs Donald Cameron Carpenters Wife was Buried to Day I heard so a very Fine old Lady she was went So I would Get Abe & List school came home Sunday the 4th Was a fine Day East Wind a Boat going to Lancaster Jim Hopkins & George Graves called here on there way Back Wind Began to Raise Treated hem about 8 oclock the wind very high the change in the moon does it
