A Dirara for 1882 & 1883

Sun July 23 1882 clear and hot
Mon July 24th clear and hot the oys were drawing in hay. I was helping mow away & hoeing corn
Tue July 25th clear and very hot in the Morning and Evening we were cutting the wheat East of the house
Wed July 26th clear and very hot finished the cutting wheat to day
Thu July 27th clear and very hot. Duncan & I was over the river mowing the grass Some of it very heavey.
Fri Jul 28th cloudy fore part of the day clear and hot part of the after noon was mowing over the river
Sat Jul 29th cloudy and warm, finished cutting the grass over the river
Sun Jul 30th clear and warm
Mon Jul 31st cloudy rain this Evening John and Duncan drawing in wheat untill the rain came. I was mowing the fence corners of the back wheat field this fore noon after noon I & Walter was rakeing and cocking over the river

Tue Aug 1st cloudy and Soft a heavey rain last night. the boys & I were makeing a fiew rails and Sawing Sove wood
Wed Aug 2ond cloudy Some rain in the Evening in the fore noon we was drawing and rails and repairing fence after noon I was hoeing the boys helping Albert thrash
Thu Aug 3rd cloudy I was hoeing corn the boys was cultivating fore part of the day atter part helping Albert Hitcheson thrash
Fri Aug 4th cloudy and heavey rain. we was hoeing corn untill the rain came cutting up thistles after the rain. the ground very wet ditches full of water. wheat in a bad plight
Sat Aug 5th clear part of the day and very hot at times the boys Sawing Sawing Stove wood most of the day. I was cutting up thistles part of the day part of the time, repairing wheat Shocks I find the wheat growing. the ground very wet
Sun Aug 6th clear most of the day and hot Quarterly Meeting held at Croton Church
Mon Aug 7th thunder clouds a good part of the day and very hot. we ware unbinding the Sheaves of wheat East of the house. they ware very much grown and wet, drew them in this after noon

Tue Aug 8th cloudy Some rain, makde a gate and Set it up over the river on the other place
Wed Aug 9th cloudy misted a little rain. Duncan and I was turning hay over the river, we found it damaged very much withe the rain this after noon I was rakeing hay, the boys was drawing in wheat. the river very high
Thu Aug 10th cloudy and cool. the boys finished drawing in wheat this fore noon. after noon John commenced to plow. Duncan and I was cutting oats I find them down very bad have to mow most of them.
Fri Aug 11th clear and cool. I and Duncan cutting oats in the fore noo, after noon we was all over the river finishing up the hay. John a plowing in the fore noon
Sat Aug 12th clear part of the day and windy a Shower this Evening I was binding oats, the boys helping Albert draw in wheat
Sun Aug 13th cloudy and cool
Mon Aug 14th clear part of the day and warm Duncan and I working at the oats. John was plowing
Tue Aug 15th clear and hot. Duncan and I working at at the oats they are bad cuting being down bad. John was plowing
