May 13th I got ready for a trip left home after dinner came to Town called on Elijah Jackson he agreed to give me a chance on a monument before purchasing bought a hat at R.J. De{illegible} $1.50 came out to Ross Gambles called at Mrs Wm Cockrills she agreed to give me a chance before purchasing It rained some this after-noon got to Rosses after six
14th I came out to Wm Morrises then to John Slys he gave me the job of cutting his mothers Inscription on monument and fixing one in cemetry came on to John Dancy's had dinner he agreed to give me a chance on a job when he bought went on in to California Thos John Sly agreed to buy from me later came from there to Phillipsville had tea at Miss Kennedys went over sold Mr W.B. Phelps $105 job was a nice day have to-night 12.40 cts

15th I paid my bill $1.50 called on Virgil Philips and Mrs Baker and Edgar Halladay on my way to Elgin had dinner at Pat Faheys 60 cts 5 cts for gum came to ross G. then to {illegible}dys for tea on to P Mustards got job of cutting Mrs Mustards name on stone came on to Tye Boys got job of cutting Mrs Kennys name on stone then to Jims stayed alnight was a nice day
16th I put my mare in with Jims worked this forenoon came home this after-noon called at H. Willoughbys and at
Moultons got our two sacks of papers got home a little after six was a nice day
17th we stayed around home alday was a nice day
18th I wrote to Jas. Hutcheon this morn sent three tracings we went to Town this after-noon 27 cts for brushes 3 cts for Garanabac got Ins. from Sarah Kirkwood to cut on stone was a nice day have left to-night $10.00
19th I left about eight O'Clock went up called on Mr McFadden on out to John Weirs he agreed to write me before purchasing went on out to Joe Alarie fed my horse a Cunningham's Corners 25 cts spent 8 cts for cookies could get no dinner came on over to Storrington stayed at Fred Hanleys alnight was a nice day
20th I paid them $1.00 he agreed to give me a chance before purchasing and Mr Alfred Sands did also I called at Robt Dixons sold a $258 job there
was a Mr Cambell there who agreed to give me a chance before purchasing I came on by Milburn to Wm. Kirkpatrick sold him a $185.00 job had dinner came on to Battersea sold Mr Robt Boal a $125.00 Mrs Payne a set of White posts 8.00 drove out and called on Mrs Hogan got her promise to do business later went out call on John Sleeth had supper could do no business came on to John Boal stayed alnight was a lovely day
20th came down to Mr Teeple he will not purchase before next winter on to M {illegible} got her promise Mr Robt Lucy ordered a set of white posts young McAlean Jr rowed me across the lake we went to call on Ferguson they were away Mr Kennedy had done his business we called on Mrs Cumpsons got an order for a set of posts $8.00 and promise of order for monument later we got back to McCleary about three O'Clock paid him 50 cts had dinner at Mrs Cumpsons came on out sold Johnny Young a $30 job there
by Inverary & Juneberry to Brewers Mills had supper at Peter Mallinson to Alex Redmons stayed there till saturday night was a nice day
22nd cut an Ins on Kirkwoods it rained a little in after-noon
23 I cut another Ins on Kirkwood job was a nice day paid Alex in full this eve $2.00 came by town home 50 cts for 2 lbs of meat 36 cts for 2 lbs of cheese 20 cts for 2 pounds of dates got home about ten O'Clock was a nice
24 Stayed around home alday was a nice day
25 have this morn $5.00 cts was a cloudy day with some rain morn I went fishing in after-noon got a few small fish I
26th I went down Town seen Jack Leeder got some Tools fixed was a nice day was a heavey rain this morn
27th I went down got cheese factory cheques cashed $20.00 had my dinner & horse fed
B. Shields 60 cts came on to Mrs Mary Cross then to Johnny Elliot he gave me the job of cutting his father's Ins. on Monument on to Jim Robinson for tea then to Lansdowne stayed over night at Geo. got Mare shod at Seale Bos this Morn
28 I called at Armstrong on to Wm Moultons had dinner back to Michael Slacks started Elliot Ins. stayed over night was a nice day sold Mrs Ezra {rest of page illegible}

29th Finished Elliot job to-day $5.55 he paid me in full $5.50 I gave Mrs Slack $1.00 was a nice day came home this eve
30th went to Town in morn I paid N.A. Webster in full $11.00 got 100 shorts $140 got some fish bone 5 cts was a nice day Jim & Dan called in a few minutes in eve
31st stayed around home alday was a nice day
June 1st I went to Town got 2 bags of potatoes 3.00 was a nice day gave leeder the job of filling some orders for me I finish lettering Thomson job this afternoon Mily Green Jim & wife visited this eve
2nd Minnie went to Brockville to-day Hubert stayed with me 13 cts for Banas I planted some potatoes to-day have lfet at Noon to-day 12.84 cts was a nice day
3rd Minnie came back this morn I went fishing this after noon and planted some beans it rained nearly alnight
4th I went to Town worked about 7 hrs for Jack L. rained some this morn
5th I walked to Town John L & I to Rockport and raised Lynch job spent 20 cts was a nice day
6th Minnie brought me to Town $7.50 for 500 ch. Midd. to be sent up $1.70 for 100 sampson Minnie took this home I spent 10 cts to day 35 cts for
dinner Mrs Thos. Gordon paid me Sarah Kirkwood bill $19.75 cts paid my dues in C.O.F. for June & July $2.20 10 cts for corn was a nice day
7th We stayed around home alday Ross came this eve & Minnie out to Bobs G. to-night was a bad storm in night
8th Robs wife died this morn I stayed around home alday

14th I left about eight to meet Minnie met her Rob & Kids at a M. O'Neils I gav Rob G. 25 cts that Minnie owed them I got some bred & buns 23 cts 2 cts for candy I helped Minnie this after-noon was a nice day

6th I sent out bills to J. Stoliker Mrs J. Wilsons
Chas Pritchard a card to L. Austin sent OPD Order to Calgary for taxes on Lots 5,6,7 cost 2 cts came to Town after dinner fixed some tools left about five came down to Mrs John Cliffe had tea on to Sofh's Bryan got Ins. for monument a sure promise of Mrs John Cliffe work on to Lansdowne stayed in Hotel alnight was a nice day but cool
17th Hotel bill $1.35 came out to Finlays got Ins for Mon. on to Robt Donovans got promise of order for sure then to Wm Leath then to Sand Bay had

18th I came on to Merrill Sweets got the promise of there job on to Mrs Christy Niblocks got promise of there job on to Delta had supper 65 cts got 3 tires set $1.50 on to Wm Greenems stayed alnight was a nice day
19th called on Mr Thomson got promise of his job on to Portland Dinner & horse fed 75 cts spent after noon in Portland then came to Crosby stayed at Geo {illegible}
20th $20 for 2 tickets to Brockville & return have left at noon 3.43 got back at Noon to Crosby had dinner at Geo. Church I called on Mrs Jas Stout It rained a good heavy shower this after-noon I called at Mr W.T. Leggett had tea sold a $220 job if the 3 Ins gro on the new way $225 if they go on the old way came on to Burns then to Robt. Steadmans then to Wm Rowswell stayed alnight settled with Geo Church $1.50
21st Went in to Chaffeys Locks called on John Regan got his promise to nto do
business till I see him again back to Elgin on out to Justice DeLongs had dinner called on Mrs Ab Delong & Lu. Mustard on to Robs G. for tea and then home 10 cts for a Doz buns I took 100 of the ch. M. of the 500 Lot from T.I. Ellis was a nice day

morn got a rule 20 cts some cord 10 cts 6 yds canvas $1.08 came to Robin Wright factory sold $115 job on to Johnny Spence had dinner on to cemetry started McBroom job went down stayed alnight with Henry was a nice day

28th I finished up McBroom & Anderson jobs left about five for home owe Ernest Acton for 7 meals 3 nights Lodging & 1/2 bu oats I brought up 100 of ch. Midd from T.I. Ellis on 500 Lot got 1/2 Doz oranges 1/2 Doz Lemons 50 lbs of flour $1.50 candy 10 cts was a nice day got home about nine O'Clock

30th I came to Town this after-noon got Dr. Bird to take some granutes out of my eyes gave him $1.00 for this and a bottle medicine
I owed him for 25 cts for got a perscription filled for eye save 5 cts for Borasic Acid 1 lb of Paris Green 25 cts

July 1st I got a bull with cows to-day out of Joe Clarks pasture we went to Town this after-noon to the Celebration 75 cts to get on ground spent 20 cts it rained some this eve was a nice day
2nd I howed the corn to-day was a nice day
3rd I worked at the potatoes to-day Minnie & Kids went out to Rob G. this after-noon was a nice day
4th I went to Town in morn drew out 12.00 sent it to C.E. Baldwin for 2 Doz Designs P.O.O. cost 10 cts 5 cts to send Minatures 4 cts for stamps sent a letter to Andy 35 cts for a cellar of orange Marmalade spent 10 cts have left at noon $4.63 I finished hoeing the potatoes to-day was a nice day
5th I stayed around home alday Minnie got back about seven brought

6th Minnie & went to Town I got a shirt 75 cts 2 shoes on mare behind I came to Town again this after noon got 18 tools sharpened at Seale Bro's sold a set of posts to Chas. Cottora 8.00 got a pair of glases 50 cts got $10.00 out of bank 6 cts for P.C. sent one to Andy & one to Miss Hattie Dow{illegible} I got a Marker ready for Lynch job came down to Geo. for tea went on out to Lynch stayed alnight was a nice day
7th came to Rockport cut Ins. on Lynch job stoped at Hotel was a nice day
8th cut Ins. on Deir job paid my bill at Hotel 2.00 came to Mr Dewil Williams had supper on to Mrs Pat Kennedy stayed alnight
9th came to Mrs Firman Hutcheons she agreed to write me before purchasing on to Mallorytown 10 cts for shave back to Lansdown had dinner at Geo. 20 cts for horse feed gave Bordon 12 cts came out to Mr Robt. Donovans then to Halstead Bay cemetry had supper at M. Slacks Angus, Alex & I went for a row this eve
10 & 11th I lettered Cliffe job came home this eve 55 cts for meat about 50 cts for oranges & Lemons & Banas was nice weather all week but very hot on Friday T.I. Ellis paid me what Mrs John Wilson left for me $4.30 this pays her ac. in full I paid Mrs M. Slack for board 2.00 gave young lad 5 cts
12th stayed around home alday was a nice day came out to Rob G. this eve brought Gertie & Marjorie out
13th I called on Justis DeLong at Mrs Wm Cockrill she was away Mr DeLong said he would not do business with out seeing me again came out to Sarahs had dinner went up this after noon & started Mrs {illegible}
inscription came back to Sarahs stayed alnight was a nice day spent 35 cts to-day
14th I finished Sly job had dinner at Jas Sherwood went out to see Mrs DeLong back to John Kearneys stayed alnight was a nice day
15th I called on Mrs C. Niblock Mrs M. Sweet ordered a $14.00 suit of clothes from Geo. Charlton came to Andys for dinner then up to Mrs Wm Cockrill sold $130 job on to John McKinley had tea at G.M Berry's got Ins for monument came on Del. Nuttall stayed alnight was a nice day gave young Perry 25 cts for a bag of oats
16th I came up to Pine Grove cemetry cut Mr Nuttall Ins. on had dinner & supper at Alex Redmonds I owe for this came over to Frank Johnstons stayed alnight was a nice day
17th got Mare shod at Albt Donaldsons an some bolts in buggy 70 cts worked on Johnston job today was a nice day
18th finished Johnston job about four paid Mrs E. Acton for my board this trip and the other $2.00 gave Gordon 25 cts got home a little after five we all went to Town I gave Minnie $5.00 I got 100 ch. Midd. $1.50 got 2 bottles of Blands Improved Iron Pills 50 cts. was a nice day
19th We stayed around home alday was a nice day
20th I wrote to A Mr Lou Mileckie C.E. Baldwin Mrs John Watters 6 cts for stamps Minnie gave me $3.00 & Nickel cheque for $3.65 Miss Sturdon paid me for harrows $6.50 I gave Minnie some change came to Lansdowne for dinner at Geo. on to Union cemetry worked on Grier job this after-noon & eve was a nice day
21st worked on Grier job to-day Ross Smith came down in eve left Ins. for to cut on & paid me $7.45 was a nice day
