It misted rain mostly all day I got 11 cases of Granite from station from John Third & Son 5 cases from Mackenzie 36.75 frt & Duty on Mackenzie’s & 77.70 Duty on Thirds I gave a cheque for this 2 cts war tax Webster team hauled it all up 4 loads we got them all up in fore noon & Renford & I erected them in after- noon 10 cts for shave Renford went home this eve Jas Galloway left his wife Ins. to cut on stone down at Guy’s Mills if Granite 15 cts per letter if marble 10 cts have left to-night 14.61 cts.

May the 2nd I went to church twice to-day 15-5

3rd 27 cts for putty we loaded Leith job this fore-noon I got a sack of cement 55 cts went down this after-noon erected Leith job got cheque for 95.00 payment in full Websters team took it down I went out to Lansdowne stayed alright at Georges it was a nice day

4th I got Leith cheque cashed 95.00 drew out $25.00 of it; went down paid $20.00 frt on the granite I got from Mac {Raney?} last week

4th Geo & I went down to River to Dans's Geo drove his horse I came home by Wallie's & Cliffe home Mrs Cliffe gave

me an order for a job in Royal Blue des no 1320 size 2-6 x 1-0 x 2-10 to be erected in August got home for dinner loaded Niblock job this after-noon & Sweets bottom base I came out to Jims after tea I gave Mary $8.00 to-day got a pair pants 1.60 got two pair of boots 3.00

5th I came up to Baptist Cem erected Niblock job got through about three had dinner at H.N. Lillie 55 cts on to Lynd-hurst 25 cts for cap I was in to see Gordon & Bruce this after-noon gave Bruce 5.00 on what I owe them & got two small pieces of Granite to-day I came on out to R.G. Earls stayed alright—was a nice day paid Ralph Dougal 30 cts for a shoe on horse last winter

{6th?} {Maitland?} & {Gilleys?} sold Mrs Jas. L. Bell a {mono?} at $110 in R.B. to be erected in Aug des no [blank space] on to John Morris had dinner there over to Thos. Morris they agreed to see me the last week in this month about a monument for Susan Morris It was to-day {& not?} yesterday that I was in to see Gordon & Bruce I stayed alright at {Andy's?} we drove over to Henry Wings he is to give me a chance & {Cheetham?} are to also for Ben Struthers was a nice day 10 cts for candy to-day

7th I came up to St. Johns Websters team brought out

Cockrill job to-day I had dinner at Bill Scotts. Mrs Cockrill is to pay me next week in full $130 I drove up to Frank Johnstons near Sand Hill had supper then in to Thos. Gillespie he is to see me before purchasing It rained on me mostly all the way in some of the time very hard was a nice day

8th I wrote to Mrs Christie Niblock Lena M. Steadman Geo G. Mackenzie sent him a draft for $140.25 in full for what Granite he has sent me up to date I drawed $30.02 cts out of Bank paid Fred Jackson in full for hay $18.75

10 cts for stamps 5 cts for this Book was a nice day Renford was sick to-day I have left to-night 18.73 cts.

9th I went to church in morn 15-5 Mary went in eve was a nice day but cool

10 th I sent Third an order for three monuments paid light bill 67 cts sent cards to W.J. Leggett W. F. Rouswell a letter to Mrs G.M. Martin 25 cts for writing pad had an early supper came down to A. Waldie’s on down to Kent’s near Rockport they agreed to see me before purchasing left there after came back to Geo. stayed over night was a nice day but quite cool

11 th came up home this morn got Rouswell job boxed and shiped this after-noon Websters team hauled it down for me I paid James Bishops 2.00 for his trip to Ebenezer about two weeks ago he wanted 2.50 but was satisfied with 2.00 if I thought it was Right the frt on Rouswell job to Newboro was $4.62 Mary & I called on Mrs Cornett this eve 5 cts for candy

12 th Loaded Leggett job this after-noon on Websters waggon I left about half past three came out to Mrs Wm Cockrill she paid me in full $130.00 on to Ross's for tea was a nice day on to W. J. Leggett stayed alright gave Mary 84 cts

13 th we erected Leggett job to-day It rained some not much the team got out about noon.

14th finished up Leggett pointing this morn came to Newboro had dinner and stayed till after dinner saturday at hotel Mr Robt Leggett hauled Rouswell job up to cemetery for me $1.50 was a nice day I done some canvasing 30 cts to Mr Graham for cement & sand

15'th I went up & finished up Rouswell job got a cheque for $100 in full Mrs H. Leggett & Mrs Davidson went up to cemetery with me Mrs Leggett promised me her job & Mrs {goes onto next page} Davidson promised to not-

17th we started Harvey marker I worked most of fore- noon on it Renford came up this morn he worked this after-noon on it I drove out to J. Abrams this eve I started Mrs DeLongs Ins gave Mary $5.00

18th I finished DeLong Ins Renford got Willis base ready this fore-noon & worked on Harvey marker this after-noon the Frye Girls gave me $15.00 on their account to-day Will Spence got his marker paid me $2.00 I wrote to Mrs G. M. Martin Jacob Dillon Rob Orr & C.

20th Got Harvey & Willis jobs ready to load We Loaded them after dinner on Websters waggon all but Willis Die I borrowed Jas. Donovan’s waggon loaded the Die on it Marked Ins. on Pennock job left a little after five for Jim’s got out a little after eight was a nice day I gave Renford 2.50 gave Mary $5.00

21st I came on to Lyndhurst erected the two jobs Mr Willis paid me in full $5.00 Mr Harvey gave me a cheque for 65.00 I had dinner & tea at Miss M. Dobbs. It rained a hard

shower this eve it was after eight when I left Lyndhurst came to Moultons stayed over night

22nd started for home drove up to Donaldsons Blacksmith shop & then home Albert Donaldson was in & left an order for monument I paid Joshua Abrams $10.00 N. G. Webster $10.00 Mr Thos. Root was in paid for marble heart $4.00 Wm Lindsay was in paid his account $4.00 I dep $3.00 & Harvey cheque for $65.00 in 10 cts etc. T Bank 20 cts for stamps on cheques 30 cts for meat 5 cts for cigaretts was a nice day 35 cts for varnish Renford went home this eve

25th Renford came back this morn I got $60.00 out of Bank went down paid $57.65 Duty on 8 cases of Granite from Third Webster team hauled up two load for me We load Delong Wright & Pennock jobs on Webster's & Lougon waggon & Austins on Ross G. Waggon 10 cts for shave I left after tea came out to Ross G. it was after nine when I got out there was a nice day 25 cts for two collars

26 stayed at Ross till about nine O'clock it rained some last night and this fore-noon the loads got to Elgin we got unloaded by noon spent 25 cts I got Delong & Wrights up this after-noon stayed {crossed out words} at Thirds over night

27th settled with Pat $2.00 Mrs Rust 35 cts. came on to Portland $1.20 for two sacks of cement Ross got out about noon with Austin job we got it up after seven this eve had dinner & tea at hotel I stayed alright was a nice day 15 cts for telephoning

28 th I finished up Austin job paid my bill $4.50 came by Harlem home by Elgin Erected Pennock job had dinner at Elgin seen John Acheson to-day he agreed to let me know when they got ready to pur- chase monument Mr. Thos. Morris did also I had supper at Sarahs 65 cts for dinner at Pats came by Henry Wings to Lyndhurst then to Moultons stayed alright was a nice day

29 th went up to Seeley Bay Mildred & I with Bobs horse & rig around by Wes Kennys he’s to give me a chance before purchasing

Annie came in with me we got in by noon 10 cts for shave this eve gave Mary $1.00 Hubert 1 cts. was a nice day have left to-night 45 cts. Renford went home.

30 th I did not go to church to-day Mary & Annie went in eve was a nice day 20 cts

31st Renford came back this morn I drew out of Bank $55.00 went down paid duty 20.96 frt. Websters team hauled it up 3 cases of Granite it was the Hunt job we erected it in front yard we loaded Donovan carman job & {W. H. B...?} on Web {next page} sters & Lougon waggons.

June 1st I got this to Dep those two cheques in T. Bank 18 cts for cashing Cowans 18 cts for putty Wm Edwards paid me $6.60 for lettering of Bessie job we loaded Fergusons Hanleys Connery Ledgered loaded Morrows Die & Base Hanley Bottom Base we also loaded 12 ft stone down at Luders for Dixon & Morrow jobs Jas. Bishops took the load from

Lueders Webster & Goujons for me I am to pay for part of Bishops trip 2nd I left about half past four got out there a little after seven we got them all up but Connery to-day I had tea at H. Sleeth we went for a drive this eve I stayed at- Hanleys to-night was a dandy day they are to pay me part in June & part in July it is 2.00 Mr Daniel Ferguson paid me in full $115

8th I wrote cards to Bryan Michael L. J. Dier letters to Mrs G.M. Martin Mrs W.A. Pennock 60 cts for stamps & P.C. 48 cts for light bill 5 cts to Hubert I drove out to Josh Abrams he came in this after-noon I gave him an order for some more bases Jas. Seale paid me in full $1.00 was a nice day.

9th have left this morn $4.92 cts. I got $40.00 out of Bank went down paid $40.36 Frt & Duty on {Shiner & Hukins?} job got N.G. Webster to haul it up for me Mary & I drove out in eve to Robin Wright got his note for $115.00 It rained some

10th I went down in after-noon built Mcneil foun-dation Hubert went with me was a nice day I ordered some Granite & marble to-day

16th got horse shod gave E. Seale 39 cts on it was all the money I had we load McNeil & Wright jobs on Websters & Lougons waggons went down after dinner & erected the two

18th I worked on Sleeth Renford on Spence paid $15.00 on Abrams note gave minus Pr 5.0 for one month 10 cts for cashing Sweets ch. 2 cts for peanuts; got a letter from Mrs W.A. Pennock with a money order for $20.00

I gave Ed Goujon $5.00 on account.

19th wrote some letters cash 4 cts for sending samples to H.C. Payman gave Renford $5.00 Mary $2.00 spent 20 cts for matches Jas. Spence got his posts & headstone 1.25 have left to-night $29.47

20th went up to cemetery in morn M. & Mary S. & D.A. S. S. Th. Meeting in park in after-noon Mary & I went to church in eve 20 cts was a nice day

21st I worked on Sleeth job was a nice day Renf & I drove down to Ebenezer in eve 10 cts for peanuts

24 came on to Elgin got job up alright spent 25 cts 25 cts for cement 1.30 at hotel I drove out to John Ache-sons house to get a chance to see them before purchasing

25 I took Billy’s buggy went out sold Miss Morris a job for Susan on to Mrs R. Young sold her a job for her husband back to J. Dancy & sold him a job for a family stone on to Billy’s for dinner load a job there on my waggon left Base at H.N. Lillies I got his buggy went over to Andy’s we went to Lyndhurst to Social M.E. church 25 cts was a nice day

26th Andy came up to Baptist cemetery with me to put in Mrs Niblocks Ins on mon I came on to Moul {?}

got 2 bags of potatoes gave Leslie 25 cts got home at noon gave Mary $2.35 spent eve at T. G. Ellis 5 cts to G. C. {Arring?} 5 cts for popcorn Mrs Watson ordered a set of posts with full name on $8.00 to be put in August was a nice day

29th I finished Murphy job gave Thos. Hill $10.00 on act. 10 cts for harness repair 33 cts for cement Loaded Sleeth job & Turner Base on Goujon waggon have left to-night $19.32 cts was a nice day gave Mary $2.00 to-night.

30th Ed Goujon & I left about four for Sand Hill with Sleeth job & Hanly B. Base & Mc F. Posts we got out there a little after nine Mr Sleeth paid me in full $88.00 Mc F. owes me for the Posts $8.00 we left about three for home Renford got a waggon from N. G. Webster & brought out to G. H. cemetery {Acton?} & Spence posts we did not get them set in They are not paid for are $8.00 a set I came from there in with my own rig was a nice day

July 1st is a nice morn but very cloudy have this morn $92.32 cts 50 cts for a flag W.G. Earl was here for dinner & tea 25 cts to go on ground 10 cts for ice cream cones for kids gave Mary $45.00 to put in Bank T. 2.02 to mail Loaded Murphy & Huskins jobs in Goujon waggon this eve Geo. was here for tea I left after seven came out to Moultons was a nice day a large crowd in town 14 cts for bread & 10 cts for popcorn took this with me

then out to Mrs Mark Chanto stayed alright—was a nice day but warm

3rd I sold a job here $130.00 had to {Gibs?} {Gile?} sold a $90.00 job on to Wm Freemans had dinner then to Newboro sold Mrs Harry Leggett a $135 job Mrs Daviden agreed to not purchase without see me on to Crosby had supper with Geo. Church 50 cts for an umbrella 10 cts for candy went up to W. J. Legget he paid me $70.00 on mon. I came out to Rifles cemetry set Huskins job $24.00 not paid then to Ross G. it rained on me all the way from Crosby

4th I came down to Andy's this forenoon had dinner then we came to town called in to see Uncle Ben got in before six was a nice day rained some to-night went to church 20 cts got $5 from Mary 10 cts to {Sal. Fats?} & J. Berry

5th Andy started on Payman job I wrote letters to Mrs Sines {F. J. H Payman?} Gordon Tharrett Dep. $100 in bank got a draft for $66.66 cts cost 17 cts paid water bill $2.35 50 cts for stamps gave away 2 cts 10 cts for telephoning to R. H. Mc calpin was a nice day wrote to Mary this eve

7th I have this morn $14.32 Andy worked on Payman & Mc Fadden jobs up to about three O' Clock then we went up to cemetery finished Ferguson & Bowie jobs filled the letters It rained a little this eve & all night.

8th Andy was sick alday I sent an order to John Third & Son for 4 jobs gave Mary $2.00 was a nice day gave the kids 3 cts

12 th we straightened up our shop 10 cts for a tag spent 15 cts gave Mary $2.50 Mr. Henry Hunt paid me $5.00 on mon. Mrs Ed Wright gave me a cheque for $66.00 payment in full for Grahams job Hunts was $15.00 & cheque for $35.00 70 cts for oats

14 th have this morn $18.75 cts. I gave Ed. Goujon $5.00 on teaming Mary $2.00 we had a nice shower of rain this after-noon

15’th got a shave 10 cts gave Joshua Abrams $5.00 on Ac. we took a drive up to Adams seele Zent this eve was a very warm day 5 cts for sand paper have left tonight &c. 60 cts got a money order from Ben Kells for 12.40

16 the got Hunt, 3.50 Dillon, {Wright?}, 66 Kells, 12.40 Cheques all cashed they cost 39 cts depo it all in Bank sent a card to Mrs. Vickery got sweet & somerville Berry job all ready this fore-noon the Kinley & lob Gough came

17th I left about half past seven 10 cts for white lead got Sweet done about two O'clock he paid me in full $5.00 came back to Olive(?) erected Berry job went on over to St. Johns erected Somerville John(?) paid me by cheque $23.00 had tea at Ross G. he gave me $8.00 on his note I came on to Andy's stayed all night

Ella marked Ins. on Sharrett + Church Die + Base I put $150.00 in Bank got Somerville cheque cashed 23.00 M. McFadden paid me $5.00 on monument I gave Mary $5.00 Renford brought us a tent I owe Mrs Donovan $5.00 for it.

got Patterson Done she paid me in full $4.45 M Hanly came up left his Ins. + paid for it $4.45 we got those both started to-day we drove over to Sunbury seen M. Shannon about there lettering was a nice day 15 cts for planning & Inventory spent 30 cts we stayed in tent to-night I gave Mary 2.00

24th have this morn $80.00 paid Workmen's Compensation act 7.80 cost 6 cts Vermont Marble Co 33.74 cost 32 cts 9.35 2/3.05 F. Webster team hauled a load up paid C.O.O dues 2.20 for July & Aug. sent Geo D. Mackenzie

a draft for 95.84 cost 15 cts this came out of Bank 10 cts for shave 50 cts for stamps + cards 15 cts for ball game ticket gave Renford 3.00 have left to-night 9.72 cts

25 th we both went to church in morn 50 cts I went in eve 5 cts Andy came back this after-noon was a nice day

26th Andy worked on Church job we got Gillespie Die in I marked 2 Ins on it + Ren. started on it to-day I paid my dues in Camp 1.00 in I.O.O.F. 1.75 in C.O.O. for ~July & August~ 2.20 1.35 for 137 lbs of Hay.

27th we got ready this after-noon for Sand Hill I gave Mary 2.00 got a cheque from Mrs Alice Niblock for 7.80 Dep. 7.50 in Bank got 5.10 out of it 10 cts for shave 15 cts for cigars 5 cts for paint-oil {crossed out: got a money order from Ben Kells for 12.40 & got it cashed for it.}

30th We came to Kingston had dinner at Cousins I paid for all .70 came on home stoped at Willow Bank & filled some letters on a stone for John Moulton got home before six was a very warm day

31st got S. M. Berry money & cashed 8.25 31st I got Boal cheque cashed $12.00 cost 12 cts {? cts?}

stamp paid Sun Life Dues $30.60 gave Mary $2.00 Ren $2.00 25 cts for Braces 25 for collar 5 for cigars 10 cts for peanuts 4.90 to T. D. Ellis for 100 flour paid a draft to-day of 226.00 to come out 10 cts for shave of Bank Acct. 5 cts for turpentine gave kids 3 cts gave Ed Goujon 12.00 in all 22.00 I left Robin Wright note in Bank 115 due Aug 12 th have left to-night 91.75 cts. I borrowed 2.00 from Andy to-day.

Aug 1st Wet all went up to Adam Seele to-day left Andy & Senior to get their own dinner & supper we got back home a little before seven got ready Andy & gear(?)out to Jim place got them

about eleven I gave Mary $4.00 to put in Bank was a nice day 2nd we came to Elgin sold Will McGuire a job on our way out drove around by S. M. Halladay got his wife Ins. to cut on mon. Andy started on it I finished out Geo. Brownie it came to 2.60 7 cts for Musilage was a nice day called on Mrs Pearson this eve

3rd I worked on Mitchell Base to-day it rained some this after-noon & to-night spent 20 cts Andy worked on Halladay job

4th I started Chapin job to-day agreed to put Ins. on for $15.00 or to turn monument fill the other Ins & put mantel in for $2.00 they are to let me know if they want it all done but am to do the lettering anyhow Mr Sheldon paid me for lettering Brown job $2.60 D. A. Campbell wants me to get a small headstone ready for Humphrey at $6.00 15 cts for plating & {?} mustard sent a letter to H. G. Skinner a card to Rufus 8 cts for stamps Andy & I drove out to Fred Acheson {?} & John are to meet me to-morrow at Elgin cemetery in morn spent 20 cts it rained a lot to-day Andy worked part of day on Halladay & Mitchell have cash like tonight $21. 63 cts.

5th I got up early went up & worked on Chapin job before Breakfast Gouyou got out a little after seven fed his team & went on to Portland the Acheson Men came up to Cemetery ordered a monument. the size & style of Phil Halladay’s father & Mothers to be of Beer's Red Granite like what is in J. G. Dargavel’s wifes stone price all complete in cemetery $75.00 The Ins. to be raised & the short form to be erected May 1916 Andy & I started for portland had dinner at Henry Metcalf Ed. Gouyou away about half past three we did not get our job completed to.day I

borrowed $1.00 from Andy to pay Mr Geo. Singleton for a load of stone 60 cts for cement 10 cts for brushes was a nice day Gouyou brought fence posts & footstone out

6th I went up before breakfast & finished Perryman job paid Mrs Metcalf $2.00 Mr F. J. Payman owes me $105.00 We came on to Phillipsville started Ralfe & Nolan jobs stoped at Alf. Elliotts it rained nearly allday we drove out to Howard cemetery this eve I spent 10 do. at Delta

7th We finished Nolan & Ralfe lettering painted letters on two other jobs one for Martin Murphy & one for a Mrs Murphy in Elgin each to be $1.50 Mrs M. Murphy came

to cemetery paid me for cutting her sisters Ins. on Byrne mon. $3.00 I am to do it sometime in Sept. We had all our meals & lodging with Alf. $2.00 gave the youngster 2 5 cts got through about two came to Elgin finished up Halladay & Chapin jobs had tea at Pat's paid him $11.00 for three days & our suppers to-day 28 cts for varnish to-day we left for home a little after seven Billy Scott took Andy down from Orange Hall I got home about half past ten $1.18 1/2 for oats at T. D. Ellis spent 15 cts to-day Rob. G. came in this eve Mary put $65.00 of the $80.00 I gave her in Bank and Mr Henry Hunt left 90.00 to go on mon. this was put in Bank to-day.

8 th Mary went to church in morn 20 cts Rob. went home after tea we all went to church in eve 20 cts was a nice day

9 th I have left this morn $11.65 I got $115.00 out of bank paid Jack Leeder in full for Morrow job & for my share of load there was $112.50 cts coming to him on Morrow job & 2.50 for teaming but I paid him $3.00 gave Johnny Bell 25 cts for hay T. D. Ellis $1.40 for bran was a nice day 2 cts for stamps

10th I wrote to Mrs Hawkins Rev J. W. McNaughten sent him prices on Mon & three des. to choose from 35 cts for stamps & a postcard I got 75.00 out of bank sent B. D. D. & Johnston 25.00 cost 12 cts wrote J. N. Topping a letter

11th I gave Mary 3.00 Renford 5.00 drove out to Joshua Abrams we made arrangements about some more bases I gave him $10.00
