We had a very fine warm day which put a stop to pressing land for about two or three days and I cut some corn. Hitched a colt to wagon. After dinner I went back across the fire between the slashes in the three cleared out ditches in the back field. Edly cut the corn and chored about the latter. Got a lot of hickory nuts after school. Hattie was spraining wrist and fingers all day.

I cleaned all the stuff by the ditches in the back field this forenoon. After dinner I worked on the Lishen field. Edly cut corn all day. Herbert and Bill came over. Mr. Davis has been a cranky old head and went back to the headboard today but mother has been so good.

Election day. I painted all afternoon up Mr. Halls garage. Herbert and Edly went down town in the afternoon. I went too to see about the election to get the book out of the school. Church they have commenced to scaffold preparing for repairs. I then went up this afternoon when we got home. I drew rock and fixed the fence corner. Hattie’s collar broke through. After tea Mr. Jones went down town to hear the election returns, and Herbert came afterwards to grab some apples. Met Mr. Randle and they had tried to take his apples but he did not handle down well. So I got 1/2 peck of sweet apples for 30¢.
