20 Cold. The river is good. I’m able to do it. Monday was at Mr. McKim’s. Jennie was at Glencoe. Donald the middle of the week

23 Called J. C. O. in the evening. Mr. Shaw was there.

22. Bright day. I washed. To 1 gall coal oil 28 box matches 10 called at J.A.'s in evening, Mrs Shaw was there.

24 Fine day. I wrote Mrs. McKenzie 2 ½ lbs of beef straight through the cutter made entirely. Birdie was training and came home on a horse sent to the stables by noon at Murdock’s. This was late coming out on the way. The mill and bridge were very fine in the middle. Killed the cow, Ohad Monday, Dunbar's funeral at 1 o'clock. Mr. Morchison and Mr. Snedick were present, not many out. A man fell about 9 am, turned to rain. Brick foundations are very poor tonight. A pleasant evening. Went to the camp all day. Uncle Donald McDonall. We are trying to build a small house. About 42. The cow that was on Saturday week is down over.

To 13 1/2 lb beef from McKewin, 81 cts. I put it though the cutter. made collop. Birdie was washing her cravennett dress. Pa & Jimie went to Lancaster yesterday to see Ewin McLennan who is visiting his old home
  
28 Sunday. Cold and bright. Temperance Sunday. Dr. Emerson preached from Isaiah 28:8. Subject from I Chronicles. A splendid address.

24 Mary Roy was here last night. She and Birdie went to the Glen to see the trustees Killed the goose. Sold Moulie, to Donahue Cornwall for $40.00 Got ten today

25  Thanksgiving day, had preached not many out snow fell about 9. A.M. turned to rain <u>Becke Sharpe</u> has a party tonight not a pleasant evening

30 A glorious day. Fine day. Things going on as usual. Harry Snowdon rode to Marlathion to consult the C. of the academy. 2 ½ lb butter 25 cts. Received 2 lbs mackerel 50. Moved two pints of apple sauce from barrels.

30 St Andrews day. Fine day. nothing going on to celebrate St. A, Bride & Jimie went to Martintown to a concert the S. of S. {Sons of Scotland}are making. to 10 lbs beef

1 Saturday. Began to snow about 8 a.m. Mr. Gorman

2 Sunday. Fine day. Mild, moon full tonight.

2 W.F.M.S. {Womens Foreign Mission Society} met at the manse for the annual meeting appointed officers, no changes, but in the president, Mrs G Symons, for 1898
  
3 Monday. All day Monday went to Cornwall as far as Martin’s. Arrived home at 2:30, not paid.

3 . To 10 lbs stew 50 cts High concert tonight
  
4 Very fine day. Mild, moon full tonight.

4 Rain and frost Old Adolphus fall dead
  
5 Tuesday night. Edwin McCrum came to visit.

5. Rain A Mr Wear from Avonmore preached. Mr Given was at Avonmore
  
6 Uncle Donald and Mary were out. They brought a small sleigh of pork from market to Collins. Edwin McCrum spent the afternoon and evening here. The old crow was 102 years.

6. Slippery. ice all over. Washed. Old Adolphus was buried today. He went with his son Alick to get wood at Mary Georges place and fell dead. he was said to be 87 years old. married 65 years
  
7 Ethel T. paid 25 cts. B. paid for frames 80 cts. Began to rain about 6 a.m. Mr. McCormick and I visited all day. Had a letter from Ferguson.

10. Uncle Donald and Mary were over. They brought us a 6 inch strip of porl from back to belly Ewin McLennan spent the afternoon, and evening here. To salt coarse 10 cts. salt fine 10 1/2 B. tea 25. 1 5c post stamp

13 Uncle Sam or way back from the West. The T.D. church is going on nicely. Small crowd.
