January 1899

11. Mercury 14.7. A.M. Murdy went to 2d con. from Front. Bot hind qr beef from Shields 90 lb at 5½ per lb. Turned soft in evening.
12. Mercury 10. below at 7 A.M. Jimie borrowed a horse from J.A. and drew one load of wood.
13. Jimie drew two cords of wood
14 Rain all day. To 2 lbs tea 3 bags 3 ct salt for ballance of duebill, 60 cts
15 A pretty large congregation
16 Made a big washing, boys driew wood.
17. Jimie went to Alexandria. And will go to Van. Kleek Hill to Sabbath. S. Convention. Mary McIntyre came yesterday at noon to remain a few days
18 Fine day, no snow yet, the roads are icey Father Chinequy died Monday Morning will be buried, Thursday.
19 Jimie got home last night at 10.30 Hephezabath {Hephzibah} has a social in St Andrews hall tonight all our young folk went.

21. Rain. Sold 4. doz eggs, got coal oil 17. Due Bill for ballance.
22. A large congregation, both morning and evening. Rev. Langil of Martintown led the evening service.
23 Fine bright day. Made the washing, A Telegram came to Aunt Kate saying Jessie McRae died this morning, will be buried on Wednesday.

25. Jess, And behold it was not there Hugh & John Robertson, Uncle Donald & Dan, came to the funeral. The Robert sons remained until 2:30. Pa & Sandy McIntyre filled in the grave. The Sons of Scotland have a concert to night to celebrate Burns' birthday. most of the talent is imported, Mrs. McIvor Craig, Soprano Toronto, James Fax. Humurist. Do. Mifs C.E Cameron Controlto Montreal. James . S. McCarrey Habitant Montreal. Edith De Lamatter Col, & Minnie McLennan, Instrumental. Birdie got velvet for the ballance of the eggs, 63 cts. All our young folk were at the Concert.
26. Dull day. snowed a little. (John McDonalds wife 2d Concession, was buried today in Lancaster)
27 28 Cold Mercury down to 10 below zero. Pa and Jimie went to Joques & Salways
28. Dull day. Sold 3 1/2 doz eggs, got sugar 25 cts raisins 25 rice 5 1/2 lbs. rye 8
29. Not a very large congregation. Another death in John McDougald's family, his aunt will be buried tomorrow
30 Cold day. I washed. Pa went to Cornwall by train
