April 1889

14 Friday. Some rain no appearance of vegetation In February. people were thinking they would be sowing in March, but it is keeping cold

Abrams paid P. $1 on the Mortgage

I paid Murdy $100 for 100 I got in the winter gave the girls 20 cts. each for Council fees

15 Murdy went to Cornwall to a Son of Scotland Meeting Jimie went to a sale at Cashon's Glen, (McBain's) he bo"t nothing
16 Fair bright day, roads very bad, not many in church
17 Birdie went to the Glen to teach for Mary Roy. whose brother is very poorly
18 Made a small washing.
19 All week so far has been fine. Jimie got three pike in the rappids
20 Farquhersons brought 5 galls of syrup I sold 6 doz eggs 66 cts at McCrimmons. And bot 1/2 lb tin 15 cts, 2 1/2 yds satin = 30 cts, 3 yds of Cotton 30, 3 spools thread 12. 1 paper pins 3

24 Marion went to the Glen to teach for Mary McLennan this week, And Birdie is to teach here for Christina

26 Aliie D. Roy died this morning, will be buried Friday. Pa & I drove out to the wake home, in afternon, found the family very composed, the roads are in some places atrociously bad particularly between the village and the Hill. Went to Prayer Meeting, 16 present
27 Fine day, Jimie got 3 mecars today & two yesterday

28. Very fine warm day, more like May than April. A very large funeral. All the Forristers* turned out. And it was a large funeral. John Robertson & Uncle Hugh were here.

Uncle Hugh & John were here attending the funeral. To 1 lb tea 30.. 2 1/2 lbs butter 44 cts sold 3 doz eggs, 33 cts

30 Sunday very warm 84. not many in church. The last day of April, And warm enough for July.
