| 1 | Sunday. Far came home last night. And Jimie remained in Cornwall. Mr Burnet preached | |
| 2 | Jimie got home in morning. And had news that peace was proclaimed in South Africa The terms were signed on Saturday 10. P.M. Our village celebrated ringing the church bells firing the cannon. Gave all the schools a 1/2 holiday, had speeches. And singing in St Andrews Hall. And fire works and bonfire at night, rain. | |
