June 1888

1 Friday. Jimie sowed bush provender and 1/2 bush hayseed on the back of the 30 acres. Hatty came this evening.
2. Was showery today. Pa got himself a hat at Dan's $.200 I got at 3 lemons 5 ct cream tartar 10 2 -- .15
3 A Mr Robertson, student preached. Morning read John 21 chapt. 22d verse of same chapt. What is that to thee Follow those men. Evening read Matth. 25 chapr. text. 3 & 4 some of the same chapt. He gave general satisfaction something different from what we were in the habit of hearing.
4 Fine cool day, threatening rain. I washed. had a {tiffet? tippet?} with Pa about the front porch. Returned the $4.00 to Hunts 4 that Bird got to pay for the examination {Santimy's?} daughter was married today and not last week as I wrote.
6 4 P.M. Jimie began to put out the manure yesterday. drew 14 loads. drew 7 this forenoon, then at noon it began to cloude up for a storm. And it came at 1/2 one. very high wind blew down two trees in our grave yard, the old pine that had stood between Gadbois & Langivall. fell, two limbs were blown off one of our maples, And Tom Hunan's old barn got quite a shafting fences were thrown down. I did not hear of any destruction as yet but if the storm was as bad in other places as it has been hear, there will be a good deal of damage done. Russel paid Pa $.4000 for rent yesterday
7 The womans meeting was at A.P. McDonell's today. I was not there. There was a large destructive fire in Hull yesterday. 1500 people homeless. Jimie putting up fences today
9. Far Jimie & Murdy went to Cornwall. Far & Jimie took 30 bush potatoes. sold then for $.14. 6.15

9. Ran went to Lancaster to see the people working in the double track. The work was begun Monday.
10. Murdy got home 10.30. The other boys did not get home until 1.30. this morning Rev Mr White Robertson preached today, A.M. read. 1st Kings 18 ch.. text 21st verse P.M. read
11. There was a very heavy storm last night began about 10. and continued until midnight It is fine and cool today. The boys are not working. I made a washing. Jimie got 100 Murdy 50 to go to Cornwall. 1.50
12. Jimie made Auntie's road work. got 2.25. Pat Far Murdy Ran are weeding the potatoes at the home, Charley Pareshaw, paid Pa $.10.00 for value received. And got 4 bush of provender charged
13. C. Parashaw got 31. bush of provender charged
14 Sold our biggest pig to Carr. Lancaster for $800 pr cwt. to be delivered in Lancaster tomorrow. dead weigh Got 1. luby 50 cts Rained last night, this is a fine growing day I sent a letter to Annie McDonell Got 1 corn broom at Dan's 50 22
15 Had a letter from Annie McDonell. And sent her one and $.13.00 12 to buy things for me and 1 for herself Got 4 1/2 gall coal oil at Willie's 1--

17. A Mr. McLean, preached Morning & evening. I was not there.
18 Boys all but Far working on the roads. Far went to Cornwall. And got me $.40.00 from L & P. I paid Willie's my account of $.9.95 13 - 67
