27. The forenoon was dull. Ran raked the last field and Jimie took it home. about noon it began to rain and rained heavily in afternoon the boys went to Lancaster to play in a game with Huntington. The home team took 2. Hun. 1 Far came home at dusk. jimie Smith had an {experiance?} today

29. Pa drove Far to Lancaster, in as wild a rain storm as we had this summer the storm began about 9. A.M. rain and drizzled all day.
30. The election of officers at Temple last night. I heard that Benjamin Slack died last night after a years acute suffering from cancer in throat which troubled him for about 3 years Kind of showery today. 10. A.M.Ran found W. cow with calf in pasture this morning. Gave J. & R. each 25 for temple.
31 Slack was buried this afternoon Pa got 2 lb tin of brawn at Gusty's 30, it is not good an old taste on it Birdie getting herself & Marion ready for Camping This has been a wet month and a greate deal of damage done by water throughout the world
