August 1892

1 Monday. Pa left for Calidonia Springs this morning. Murdy went to Cornwall Jimie had Pigon 1/2 day. put in loads of hay
2 Drizzle of rain all day. Jimie mowing
3 Wet all forenoon. boys went to Cornwall to play Lacrosse (a practice).
4 Boys did not get home until 2 A.M. Part of the Stormont cotton mill was burnt last night. Got B strap 25 yeast 10. 2 lb B. sugar 10. W.F.M.S. {Womens Foreign Mission Society} 25 25 45
5 Jennet Bella & Duncan D.D. came last evening. Boys finished the hay. Whitford put in a load here of ugly green stuff Got 2 cans salmon 30. 2 lb raisins 15 Gave Murdy 40 cts to shoe Brown's horse 45 40
6. All the boys went to Montreal this Morning at 6.. Got 6 lbs steak 60 cream tartar 10 There was quite a storm of wind & rain At noon but it cleared up nicely at 4 P.M. and the Mifs Mc L's left for home.
7 Fine day. I did not go to church.
8 Fine day. Mrs J.A. McDonell and myself finished packing bale for N.W.
9 Began raining last night And was showery today
10 Fine day. Murdy went to Cornwall. I sent the bale to Lancaster by Snider Got 8 lb.. 7 oz cheese from factory this morning Had to bring all the horses home last night. They were getting into the buckwheat field. the express on the bale 30 cts charged to the W.F.M.S. It began to storm and rain between 3 & 4 . the rain
