− | Very cold day. Went down town in the Morning for meat. Then down to Charlie's to see about trimming for dress and to get some facts from Charlie for an address for Mr. W. H. Brown who is to be presented with a gold cane to-night at a banquet in the McDonald House, the occasion being his retirement for a time at least from Municipal life. (Miss Pearce went home this morning to her sister's wedding.) Got very cold at night. freshest night yet. Snow is so deep in front of post office that you cannot see across the road. Must be about 7 or 8 feet deep where it is thrown up. Read paper etc., practised for half an hour. Charles at the banquet |

six Probates. Just finished before Charles arrived from Walkerton on late train. Cold night.
