The Bells and the Mickles went to McKay's for dinner. Jean had spent the time resting but had a young man visitor in the evening. Drove to station in taxi. Train not in but only had to wait about 15 minutes. Taft came down on train, only one coach on. Mr. M.A. H. got in at Tara & told us Taft was to address the Chesley School children from the car. Quite a crowd at the station (Will Lamont is Brakeman on the train) Mr. Taft spoke very nicely & crowd gave him a cheen When he started & when he finished. Mr. McDonald introduced him & Dr. Biehn was on platform as representative of School Board. Went down to office to see if there was a letter from Dorothy - got one. Then went over to see Mrs. Leitch who got home on Monday night from Cleveland where she went from Hamilton (her brother's funeral) to her sister-in-law's funeral in Cleveland. Our train almost ran over a man just before we reached Chesley station. A few got on the track & did
