1881 {top third of page is difficult to decipher}

May 1 Revd Mr Houston preached in the morning here got no Minister yet we had Sunday School in the church
the woods look a little green 2 Ad finished on is place to day heavy frost last night {rest of entry illegible}
3 I went to Gananoque to hear a case between our township council & Hugh Willson for payment of same sheep that Willson {illegible} the Judge said he had no Jurisdiction in the case we have no dog tax therefore no fund to pay from and it is the counsils duty to try all such casess Ad draged 2 ridges in the {illegible}
4 I dug a bed for oninion where Ad cultivated yesterday the ground is hard and damp {illegible} we have had no rain I might say this spring yet
5 I dug a little more in the garden and planted some top onions the ground is very lump frost last night
6 fixed more of the garden wheeled some dung to the gooseberrys and Rubarb and cleaned them
7 Sifted some of the peas that Ad got at Lydenhurst they were thrashed with the Machin and were a good deal broken
8 there was no church here this morning Revd Mr Garrat and Mr Huston preached at night

12 Ad went to the outlet to look for a man to hire Sowed 3 1/2 bushel of peas they are all the crown peas I sowed better 1/2 bushel of our own old kind in the head ridge and some flax see on the end ent of the head ridge and some flaxseed on the east end of the head ridge Ad went to Young for Buckwheat to sow in the south North field southeast part of it he intends to plow it under

14 Ad & Wallace came this morning they sowed 4 bushels of Buckwheat on southeast part of the North field it was to wet last fall he intends to Plow it under
