I got around in good time this morning and got over home soon after eight with Queen. We hooked up Queen, Joe & Pommers to the spreader and got six loads out before dinner. We only got about 14 loads out of the yard but by setting the spreader for 8 loads to the acre we got the field nearly covered. There is still a little left in the yard, but we didn't think it was enough for a load and I wanted a little any way to plant my melons & squash in. I went back with Dad. when he took the spreader and brought Queen home. Dad. says Pickford told Frank that Mrs. Leany told Alan Law that Dad. sailed for England on Monday and Henderson told Mrs. Brent that Dad. had come in for a title and a fortune, so it appears that Dover has some thing to talk about but we can't just figure out where they got it, as we have all kept quiet. It has been a little warmer to-day and didn't freeze last night.
