George Sims comes up to house at noon & tells me C Hughs is drunk. I go down with George & dismiss Hughs. Put S Hindle on to watch tonight. Hughs very bad.

Go to Tannery at 6 30 A.M. Hughs still drinking. Sam Hindle watches at Tannery last night.
