Friday 9 nice after the rain Tom McKeowan threshing Arthur helping I churned & worked the butter canned up the last of the grapes pealed a big kettle of pears & pealed the pumkin & put it through the colander. Marjorie & Gordon guarded the cows. Marjorie washed a quite a lot, for herself & the children. I did not want her to wash any for me for I am going to wash next week. I swept the school house. | − | Sat 10. Marguerite went up to Heximers Marjorie guarded the cows untill she came back. I killed two roosters & dressed them for Kesters they weighed 6 lb they made them less. Took 8. 1/4 of butter they made it 2 oz short. Ferkin 15 lard 16 gal oil 18 Towelling 30 sugar 25 fly paper 5 soda 5 Ginger 10 soap 6 yeast & Balance 12. put 243 on the book. Marguerite got the horse up & I fed her & we got the wagon out, I swept both rooms cleaned the kitchen, washed the windows made 4 pumkin pies & one grape. cleaned the stoops. boiled pig feed, Marjorie swept the front room. Mon 12 beautif day hard frost last night. I went down & dusted the school house brought up a 12 qt pail of water the children guarded the cows in the forenoon while Marjorie went after the timothy seed then she was sewing for Marguerite she has rheumatism bad. I churned after dinner worked the butter. in the morning we drawed up a barrel of water - Arthur to Georges. I went over to see Mrs. Riesenger after I had my night work done.
Teu 13. Will went to Port Robinson with a big load of choping & 6 bushels of wheat, let us have two bushels for flour, I put {4?} bushels of whear, I creammed 7 wheat in two sacks & 3½ of vats & Marjorie went to Chippewa & got it choped. Took 4 lb 13 oz. butter 225 got salt 10 brown sugar 18 cheese 19, blue 5 Stove blacking 8 sodas 10 rice 10 coffee 13 tea 12, sage 5 pepermints 5. Arthur up Heximers. Fannie helping clean the church Berdie & Nettie for Wills. The Presbeterian minister called at the other house I started to wash in the forenoon bt the time the dishes & separater is washed floor swept & wood picked up to keep feed for the pigs boiled one cannot get much else done made a pudding for dinner. got the white clothes washed & put to soak
Wed 14. Marjorie & Gordon guarded the cows. Marguerite went down untill she got the bread mixed. I carried a pail from the school house for the churn. I churned & worked the butter she went up to help Mrs. McCredie after dinner. wind terrible high terrible for bakeing & hot & smokey I put the white clothes out. Arthur & his father went over to Willeks after she coll in the afternoon Arthur went to Georges. I separated the milk just got through as Will came to do it he is so good about comeing to do it about every night since Arthur has been to Georges other times too I went down & swept the schoolhouse but did not dust.
Thur 15. Will & Lilly went to Chippewa. Fannie over for awhile. I washed out my blanket that got stained by the drip on it & a lot of calicoes just about roasted gathered up a lot of wood along the flats, dusted the schoolhoyse & carried two pails of water yesterday Marjorie & I drawed a barrel warm pan for night Arthur to Heximer. The heat is great & do dry wind high. Marjorie & Gordon guarded the cows mornings & Marguerite at night.
Friday 16. I churned, had a bread pudding for dinner. Marjorie kept the pigs out of the pen while I fixed it some she cleaned the only side trough
