1865 April

April 1 Worked at the waggon that I got from Mr Wilson got the {illegible} long peice & it all put together Ad came home from Young Rob Beatty with him
2 no Meeting to Day
3 Striped a pice of the rock at the gravelpit for a quarry I think it will do went to the Council in the afternoon
4 made a box for the truck waggon & other fixings on it
5 Ad drew gravel for Mr Weston yard fine day
6 Began to plow & plowed in field East line that he began to plow last fall it never was plowed before rain so that we had to stopt Ad took the horses to A. Fullerton & got them shod
7 finished the plowing in that field I mended the childrens shoes yesterday and to day
8 went to Gananoque with the waggon got 200 of (73s.3d) flour Ben Young J. Bradly & Elen went with me B. got 100 of flour I paid $2.50 to Mr Lattimer for 100 of flour that he sent me in March Dr Richman paid me $3.75 for flax seed that he got of Mr Watson last spring
9 the Revd Mr White preached in the School house this forenoon hard frost night
10 Snow this morning forenoon all gone before night Ripeled some of the flax to the Station & got a bag with Rubarb & Strawbery roots I expect that they came from Lyn
11 planted the roots in the garden Ad went to Richard Copeland & got 18 bus oats paid forty cents per bushel
12 heavy rain this morning & most of the day ripeled the flax that is in the barn
13 tried to plow the Stuble land but it is too wet
14 Ad plowed Mr Smiths lot & George Grahms I finishd ripiling the flax in the old house the boys spread part of it
