April 1 Worked at the waggon that I got from Mr Wilson got the {illegible} long peice & it all put together Ad came home from Young Rob Beatty with him
2 no Meeting to Day
3 Striped a pice of the rock at the gravelpit for a quarry I think it will do went to the Council in the afternoon
4 made a box for the truck waggon & other fixings on it
5 Ad drew gravel for Mr Weston yard fine day
6 Began to plow & plowed in field East line that he began to plow last fall it never was plowed before rain so that we had to stopt Ad took the horses to A. Fullerton & got them shod
7 finished the plowing in that field I mended the childrens shoes yesterday and to day
8 went to Gananoque with the waggon got 200 of (73s.3d) flour Ben Young J. Bradly & Elen went with me B. got 100 of flour I paid $2.50 to Mr Lattimer for 100 of flour that he sent me in March Dr Richman paid me $3.75 for flax seed that he got of Mr Watson last spring
9 the Revd Mr White preached in the School house this forenoon hard frost night
10 Snow this morning forenoon all gone before night Ripeled some of the flax to the Station & got a bag with Rubarb & Strawbery roots I expect that they came from Lyn
11 planted the roots in the garden Ad went to Richard Copeland & got 18 bus oats paid forty cents per bushel
12 heavy rain this morning & most of the day ripeled the flax that is in the barn
13 tried to plow the Stuble land but it is too wet
14 Ad plowed Mr Smiths lot & George Grahms I finishd ripiling the flax in the old house the boys spread part of it

April 15 Ad plowed in the midle field east side of the road or path I made a gate for the road heavy rain this afternoon the boys finished spreading the flax
16 no Meeting to day Snowed in the forenoon then rained
17 hard frost last night the ground to wet to plow on our own place Ad went to help Ben Young plow Sod
18 rain this forenoon Ad helped B Young to plow I went to Yonge in the afternoon intend to stays all night
X 19 I went to the Stone Church & fixd Jonnies grave & all the rest of our graves then came to Ad Armstrong got dinner then to Margrets & trimmed there grapes Ad drew dung for Mr Vannorman half the day
20 I Stopted all night at Granpas got some black cherry & brought them to Mallorytown took the cars & came home at night Ad plowed in the forenoon rain in the afternoon the ground very wet
21 rain in forenoon drew stones to the Barnyard & planted the cherry trees
22 cleaned the flax seed it is very poor went to an Agriculture Meeting at Johnstons Schoolhouse at night
23 the Revd Mr White preachd in the Schoolhouse
24 Ad tried to plow it is too wet Sett posts for a gate at the road Ad plowed in the afternoon very dry with high winds
25 Ad plowed I thrashed & cleaned the flax seed it is very poor & only about 3 bushel
26 began to Sow & Sowed 3 bushel of Poll oats in the afternoon draged with the Colt
the Millier Black Cow dead this morning 27 Sowed 5 bushel of Poll oats that 8 in all in the midle field east side of

May 1 Went to Thomas Scotts with Isabla She is going to teach School in his Section got J. Latimers Buggy Ad plowed a little east line the ground is to wet
white frost 2 Ad plowed east line in the forenoon I rased some stones at edge of gravel pit I then spread dung in the garden Ad plowed it in the afternoon I went around the persons at the Station for the School Bill white frost this morning
white frost 3 Ad plowed west side of the path midel field I planted 4 rowes of young apple trees over 100 in all east side of garden & trimed the trees at the old house
white frost 4 planted 5 rows of Youngr apples trees in all over 1300 Sowed 4 bushel of Peas & oates east line widle field white frost
5 Sowed 2 bushel of Spring Rye next the path Seeded with Thimothy west side planted 1 1/2 bushel of potatos
6 heavy rain all day cleaned some grass Seed
7 the Revd Mr Carrol Preached in the church
8 thrashd the hay that was over horses & cleaned the Seed had nearly 2 bushel seifted the seed that was saved through the winter had nearly 4 bushel
the woods look green 9 Sold better then 3 bushel to Mr Vanarum at lls. 9d per bushel Ad plowed the ground rather wet planted 1/2 bushel of potatos in the garden
10 plowed between the ditches
11 heavy rain last night & all day
12 drew a few loads of dung to the orchard the lands is too wet we had to quite Ad got 12 bushel of oats from J. Bradly 40 cents per bushel
oath of G Whinney 2 months 13 plowed next the road at the old house
14 went to the Escot & heard the Revd Mr Burton preach went down the track a little rain
15 Sowed 5 bushel of the oats that we got from Richard Coapland East side of the path
16 Sowed 2 bushel of Rye west Side of the path the ground rather wet very warm day Ad cultivated Some of the New land East line planted a little corn in the garden put a Small handfull Superfast in the 3 & 4 rows from the {illegible}

May 17 Sowed 34 bushel of Black See wheat East line on the New land that was brock up last fall & this Spring Robert Armstrong came to help us with the Spring work they are all done a little rain this afternoon after night
18 Ad & Rob plowed north of the North ditch very cold day high winds
19 Sowed 2 1/2 bushel of John Youngs peas on the first 5 ridges in the north side east of the path then 3 bushel of peas that we bought of Cris Young
20 Sowed better then 1 bushel more of peas & 4 1/2 of Barley Sowed 8 ridges of it with timothy Robert Armstrong went home at noon Young Elen went with him we got a fine job done this week
21 the Revd Mr Burns preached in the School houses fine warm day
22 Sowed 3 1/2 bushel of Barley North of the north ditch East side fine Showr last noight very warm
23 very cool this morning a little rain last night Sowed 2 bushel of barley in the same field that is 10 bushel of Barley in all
24 plowed the head ridge in the north field & sowed a pailfull of flax Seed on it then plowd the head ridge of the head of the Rye & Sowed it Sowed 2 bushel of Black See in the North field
25 Sowed 1 3/4 bushel of Skinlege Barley in the North field 21 1/2 Bushels Black see then finished field

29 plowed for the Corn rolled & harrowed it it is very dry & lumpy
30 plowed at the old Barnyard for corn the ground so dry that we had to quite it the horses could not plow Humph Young helped plowed in the orchard planted some corn

June 1 Went to Gananoque saw Mr Callen about flax straw got 200 of flour at per 100 & 50l bs of meal 81 Benjamin Young paid for them Ad washed the Sheep in the gravel pit H. H. Young helped
2 planted 12 bushel of Chillies Potatos & 6 of Cups B. Young helped in the afternoon
3 plowed 8 bushel more potatos & fixed around the house
4 ther was a field meeting in J. MeNiels woods the Rovd Mr Carrol preached in the Church & Mr in the Shoolhouse at 3 oclock
5 worked in the garden Ad rolled the peas in the afternoon he brought a load of hair from Escot for dung
6 Shered Some of the Sheep a fine Shower at noon Ad helped me to Sher in the afternoon we finished
7 worked on the Roads I am pathmaster

10 fine rain this morning no work till noon worked on the Roads in the afternoon

12 worked on the Roads Ad went to Yong with Robert Beatty he brought Elen home last night Ad went to help Robert Armstrong to log fine day
13 worked on the Road in the forenoon that finished that finished the Road work. I rolled the oats 2 times & once on the poll oats
14 finished the oats then rolled part of the Barley {illegible} two ridges next to the path the shot blade at the ends so I stoped rolling it but rolled the last sown the ground is very hard & dry
15 went to the 6 concession to let out jobs rather by order of council to No 1 to Wm Killenbek $6.50 No 2 to Michel O Conner No 3 the same $10.5 No 4 Wm Killenbeck No 5 {illegible} rain to day

June 16 Rolled the remainder of the Barley Sowed the 7 ridges put the first with grass seed it was not rolled till after the Seed was Sowd Sowd the rest of up to where
17 rolled part of Black See & the new barley very warm day Ad came home from Young he worked with the Robs
18 the Revd Mr Carroll preached in the church
19 Wm Hazelwood Betsey, Hannah & her husband Isabla come her & the Revd Mr Carrol was here for dinner we had a fine time
20 Ad tried to plow the follow the ground so dry & hard that he could do nothing, planted some cabbage
21 stroked in the sand pit in the afternoon
22 DO Do in the forenoon Ad afternoon Ad drew sand for Wm Thompson in the afternoon

July the Revd Mr Smart preached in the Schoolhouse very warm day a little rain last night worked a little at the corn began

1 Put some of the barley in the sumer fallow & planted beans David & Jennet came from Delta
2 the Revd Mr {illegible} Mr Gracie & his {illegible} Anniversary at 1 oclock
3 Ad & Humphrey Younge went to Ly for two loads of flax {rest of entry illegible}
4 they brought a load {rest of entry illegible} to the 6 concession to {illegible} that {rest of entry illegible}
5 went to Gananoque {illegible} flax & low {illegible} 1600. {illegible} per ton & {illegible} 11.17 one cent per lb 65c 2 1/2 cents per lbs paid H. Yonge three dollars fifty cents for {illegible}
6 Pulled daisies out of the Barley Ad mowed around the fences cut some of the daises in the summer fallow
7 went to Brockville on the cars stoped at Lyn saw Thomas Booth about the Straw I am to give him 1/3 of the prise expect the drawing gave Jennet four dollars on account
8 went to the funeral of the Widow Turner She was buried at Robinsons the Revd Mr White preached in the Church drew in the hay that cut Elizee Austin came here warm day

22 finishd it in forenoon got horserake in afternoon raked & drew 5 large loads very dry & warm

24 Ad mowed in the peice at the North of the wheat I went to Lyn with Mr Wylie to See about the flax Machinery that was left there got Beord to draw a load of it to Brockville
25 finished cuting that piece drew in there was A child left in the Station house I went to see about it it was Elizie Whernies
26 drew in 4 load in the forenoon Ad went to a mowing Bee of John Purvis I went to Mr Darlins to see what would be done with the child that was left at the Station before I got back it was taken away by a woman from Lyn a little rain this afternoon
27 finished our haying to day & hoed some of the potatos
28 worked at the potatos Ad helped H Young in the forenoon went to Escot for Isabla in the afternoon

23 worked at the Peas & drew in some of the oats
24 Do Do Rob Armstrong came up on the cars I went with him to see a horse of {illegible}

15 Ad went to Marble Rock for a load of scantling & lath for George Graham I went & surveyed a Road at Keatons Billie helped me

2 Henry Johnston came with his thrashing machin to thrash Wm Turner T. Web H Webster B. Young & C. Younge helped the big wheel jumped some cogs twisted delayed us so that we did not finish
3 finishd thrashing about 9 oclock cleand the floor & some grain for the Show at Gananoque
4 ripled the flax in the forenoon Ad & Billie helped J. Web at the Machin in the afternoon little rain
5 went to the Gananoque fair took the first Premium on flax Seed on flax & on a cradle the Second on Barley acted as Judge on Cattle fine day Mr F. Jones is giving us $15 on our plowing Match for the first & Second pres
6 I went to Gananoque Station & laid out a Road on lot No 16 Second Concession put up Notices & reported to the Council Ad helped Wm Turner at thrashing machin Norton Gardener was here all night he was out bying Sheep
7 put in the Stove & fixed pipes Ad went to a Bee of James Choulhoons to draw brick from Escott heavy rain to night
8 the Revd Mr Carrol preached in the Church
9 Cleaned 10 bushel of wheat & 10 bushel of barley. Ad took Isabla to her Shool finished plowing the fine day

Oct I received 2nd prize from Dr Richmond for flax seed that he got from me at Mr Watson seed {illegible}

16 Scratched a ditch across the midle field from the path to Johnstons line in the afternoon Elen went to Younge with Rob was here he came here on Saturday a visit Robie {illegible} Jennie

5 snow no Meeting to day a very Stormy Snow & Sleet most of the day
snow & rain 6 I went to the Gananoque Station to See Mr Healls if he had an order to hires hands for the States he has no diffinate orders yet Stormy most of the day
7 cobled in the forenoon put in 7 pains of glass & otherwise fixed fixed the Schoolhouse windy

9 helped Cristie Young at the thrashing Machin Ad went to Brockville to See if he could get into the Machin Shop of the Grand Trunk

Nov 16 Sowed 34 bushels of Rye in the North East corner of the Farmes where we tried to Summer fallow in the forenoon Billie plowd in the afternoon I went to the Revd Mr White & took the oath of M Robinson & WB London to a Statement about the hight of the G.T. R.W. {Grand Trunk Rail Way} fence
17 plowd in the northeast part of the Place
18 finishd plowing it all but midle head land by noon Billie Elen & Isabla went to Young in the afternoon
19 the Revd Mr White preachd in the Schoolhouse in the forenoon & the Revd Mr Carrol in the afternoon in the Church
20 Cleaned head ridge & furrows at the northeast End of the farm where I plowd Billie came home from Yonge & brought a ram lamb from Grandpa fine day
21 plowd a cross ridge between the Rye & that winter & sumer fallow then I shoveled the furrows it snowed & rained all the day I got quite wet before I got done
22 made better then a half barrl of crout Snowed most of the day
23 drew 2 loads of wood with the Slaugh no frost
24 cleaned the Spring Rye laid 7 bushel in 2 barrels I will want at least 5 or 6 bushel for Seed fine day
25 the Snow nearly all gone let off a great deal of water of the fields fine day

27 I attended the Council Samuel Johnston is trying to get set of from our School Section Messers Darlin & Cook hear all night
28 attended again to day hard frost with a little snow
29 worked at a little house fine day
30 Killed the hogs Humpher Younge helped the frost is nearly all gone again a little rain to night
Three oclock there was a man came here & wanted my help {illegible} span of horses for a day or two. I sent him to J. Johnstons It tunred out that he had stolen them

2 Billie drew Stones half the day for J Weston helpd Mr Cornet to thrast at his Fathers I thrashed Buckwheat
3 went to Gananoque to the Fair acted as Judge on Sheep
4 there was a fine Show of grain roots & Stock Sowd 5 bushel of Rye the ground is very dry

24 Billie plowd in the forenoon then he went Marble Rock for lath for George Grahm I Settled with Wm Thompson & paid him all to date
25 Billie plowed in the forenoon took Widow Austin to Robert Austins I helped Wm Armstrong to thrash
26 Billie wont to Andrews for Brick for Ge Grahm got none I helped Wm Armstrong to thrash

part of the West half of lot No 10 is a swamp also all the above No

are in the concession. If the creek on lot No 9 on the 4

conssion was cleaned out so that the water could run off I think

that a road could be made but it will take from 1 to 5 feet

of material to make it
