with him to come out tomorrow afternoon and take her down town to do some shopping. She is feeling better. I didn't do much but chore around this after noon but I feel much better to-day. I walked over to Ollie Birdsel's sale about four o'clock as I wanted to bid on his hay but I met Dave Lampkin at the gate and he said everything was over, so I came right home again. I went late on purpose as I didn't want to stand around in the cold.

I met young Dove with a load of gravel and he told me that Tupper had fired him because his father had waylaid and hit Albert Gurney last night because he the kid had complained to his father that Gurney had passed him on the road with a load and then thrown a stone at him because he kept yelling at him. The Robinson's came along as Dove left and said he was a little pest that Gurney had passed him on the road but hadn't thrown at him. Dove's poor old team's bones are just about poking through their skins at all points so it is time he quit. Cold and raw, tried to snow a little.
