28th Went to Renshaws Bought scythe stones H Wines 1/2 Gal 1/- Tea 1/2 lb 1/6  11 lb Ham at 8 1/2 1/9 1/2 Bought of Mr Harper 1/2 worth of sweetys seen Donald Cameron at Mr Harpers Mr {illegible} & Smallman here all night I stopt at Renshaws all night Raining and High Wind

August 1st Hunting commences putting in hay & Mowing Down at the apple Tree in the Evening Went for Mrs Christee Livinia sick

2nd of August the Hurefs Mary B{illegible} 1 oclock in the Morning Gave Mrs Christee for to Give here the REst again sent her home Smallman & 2 Men here sailes by name Spence  {illegible}HolingBack stopt in the Rain got 40 cents on Greenback

Hoeing Potatoes Fixing the Room Door Charlie came up with his ashes at Mr Harpers a {illegible} spell 2 Treats & sweetys 1/02 well used went over to Renshaws with the Jar stopt allnight

14th came home William Spink & George Renshaw here

15th went with Charlie to Salmon River to get {illegible} Bought of {illegible} Streeter a Pair of Boots L4 1/4 Left my old Boots Mrs Bowen here for Berries Charlie & I Fishing Betsy Hoeing the Potatoes Black Birds swarming St Swithens Day if it Rains to Day it Rains for 40 Days But no Rain thanks to his Glorious Majesty for that

11th Hoeing the Potatoes for the first Hoeing Finished

17th John Angus came Lashey & Henery here gave me a channel cat an EEl the Body snatcher & Muly & Mr Stickler called for Matches Gave me some crackers Jim Hopkins & Family picking Berries me Picking Berries

18th Began to Mow for the first time I crofsed with John Angus Christee here Lis Abe Mary Jane Lukes Boy here Picking Berries a hen to hatch Grinding scythes

19th Mowing

20th Put in 1 1/2 Loads of Hay for the first Began to rain storm of Thunder & Lightning Spencer after Berries Mayberries Ripe plenty and cucumbers Fixing the cart & Harnefs

21st Gordon very sick Mowing the Grove Livinia Making Preserves
