Raining snowing Blowing wind changed Blew hard from the West Me Firing in the New Year Great cracks

2nd Livinia Bad with Tooth ache

3rd Allen's Birth Day

Sunday 4th Hansel Monday chopped and cutting poles for Rails

5th set my 3 Pills of Poison at the sturgeon Island Bushed the Road at the Head of the Island ice Good Cutters crofsing to Salmon River took Home a Load of Firewood {illegible} went to Henerys Henery came to Fish EEls Antwine a Young son Monday night cutting Holes with Henery got a Basket of EEls From him.

9th chopping Rails of Elm & Bafswood cut the Tops in cordwood put Down 3 Elms 1 Basswood 1 stump of maple piling the Brush as I go along Afternoon turned Stormy with high Wind very high Vin Made my Vest on put a Back in it One of the sheep something wrong with its Eye

10th Sunday Dan came Gave Gordon -/10 Lashey here

11th Dan Went off took the Upper Point Road A Dance at Allen Roys cutting Rails

12th Went to Mr Harpers he is to Give Andrew Summers 34 Dollars for me the Wood comes to L 10..18..5 Bought of Harper 1/4 of Horse shoe Nails -/4 1/2 A Treat for 4 -/7 1/2 Bought of Rolland McDonald 1 1/2 yds of Tape -/6 Bushing the Road to Summers John Hamilton on the Boshure Horses run away Angus here the Horn Broke of the Cow Since I went off warm to Day this is the Old New Years Eve Windy from the West

Lashey went to Fish EEls and for his spear got 30 I went to Mr Harpers he paid A Summers for Me 26 Dollars a Treat -/7 1/2 crofsed to Salmon River paid Mr Norman .7/6 all clear up to this Date Seen Bills Boy Bought of G A Streeter a pair of Lace Boots 8/9 a pair for myself 4 1/4 a Treat at Stoughtons with Walter Baker 1/6 Bought of P Buchanan Skelletons hoops 7/6 Came Down By Alexis Island Bills horse Dead Left my Boots to be Fixed

19th Stormy Lashey Fishing went for Tobacco to Harpers I sent an order for a Lamp Got it & Broke coming home Lashey stopt all night at Henerys

20th Breaking Roads chopping in the Bush Lashey skinning eels Fixing his Spear Getting all his clothes washed

21st St Agnes Day Went to Mr Harpers Bought of 1/2 lb Tea 2/- 2 lbs Sugar 1/3 Lamp 2/6 Treats 1/3 Went Down to Charlies with Grey took him up to Mr Harpers with Charlies the First time a horse out Charlie staving Lashey Thrashing Wheat

22nd Lashey chopping Charlie & I Fanning 2 Bushel of Wheat Stormy some Took my yarn to Mr Harpers on the 21st 10 lb Bag & All 21 Skains For to Give to Mr Campbell to Weave

23rd Went Down with Charlie took the Mare Lashey chopping & Went to Fish EEls in the evening I went with Gordon & his Mother to her Mothers Raining

24th Charlies Birth Day Lashey went to Bosells for his Traps and Razor

25th Washingtons Birth Day My Boy Went to the cold springs on the 24th Lashey to Fish EEls got 27 Angus & Mr Harper here Looking at the cows Gave him a variety of Fish to take home Put the Marsh hay in the Barn Lashey at

26 Lashey worked in the Afternoon Angus Jack & Jackson came took the cow salt hops Abe Lis Gordon and Livinia came

I went as far as Mr Harpers with Lis & Abe Bought of Mr Harper 1/2 lb Candles -/4 1/2 Treat -/4 Mr Renshaw showing me the Bad piling & Bad Wood Lashey chopping all Day me chopping

28th Lashey chopping all Day me chopping very fine weather

29th Races in Salmon River Lashey went with his EEls chopping till 8 or 9 o clock we will call it 1/2 Day as his going for my Boots Drawing Wood a Mosquito on my Finger sucking as if it was the month of June The Pony Bet at the Races

30th Lashey came in afternoon stormy

31st Sunday Stormy East Wind & snow

1st of February Lashey Thrashing oats I went to Mr Harpers Bought Whiskey 1/2 Gal & Treat 1/10 1/2 Tobacco for Lashey 1/2 lb 2/- Broom -/7 1/2 Matches -/4 Pipes -/1 Ink -/3 had the Mare up stormy weather Brought 2 Bottles to Mr Harper 1 for the Bottle he gave me for the oil the other Charlie & I Got

2nd Fanning 10 Bushels of Oats Drew a Load of Wood Lashey Fishing sunce 10,0 clock got 1 Set his Traps at the Hay Island got 1 Rat

3rd Went to Salmon River Brought the saw home gave a Book to Abe to Buchanan 80 lb of Oats at 40 cents a bushel to my account to 12 Rats to Streeter 2..25 cents took 2 Bushels of Wheat to Mill Bought of Congdon 1/2 oz of camphor 7 cents hoarhound candy 3 cents got an almanack Bought of Mr Harper 1 Bottle of oil -/10 Treat -/7 1/2

4th chopping all Day Laurie came

5th Laura went to Salmon River Margaret henerys girl here Lashey chopping all Day went Down for Charlie & his ashes took Down 2 Bags Charlie Gave Gordon a Bell Lashey getting Rats

6th Lashey went to Trapps I went with Charlie to A Summers got 2/3 cash seen young David he was very Low Bought of Mr Harper 1/2 lb Tea 2/- 2 Treats 1/3 got 3 papers from McDonald went home with Charlie
