Sept 1904

{Marginal note written on left side} Elm Park Beauty 2nd calf by Prince Benton and Belle of Delaval 2nd Monday 5th Sunday 4th fine We showed cattle today got 1st & 2nd for Yearling bull 1st 2nd & 3rd for Bull Calf. 1st & 3rd for Cow 3 yrs & upwards 1st & 3rd for two year old heifer 2nd & 3rd for Yearling heifer 1st 2nd & 3rd for heifer calf. We got also 1st for Calf herd and sweepstakes for best Female.
Sunday 4th fine I went to Church in morning and Charlie heard a very Good sermon on Let that mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus it was the most direct and Earnest sermon that I ever heard it was {Quernst?} Methodist Church. Parkdale
Tuesday 6th fine We did our Chores and showed Stock to Exhibition visitors. Herbert Finished hauling manure to Fall wheat
Wensday 7th wet We attended Stock as usual. Herbert Harrowing for Fall wheat.

Thursday 8th fine Herbert finished harrowing and we looked after things in general. Our meals are costing us about $1.50 per day grade cow had a calf by P of Benton
Friday 9th fine We attended Stock as usual & Loaded for London about 7 P.M. Freeman Barber sowing wheat today. Herbert Came to show and Charlie went home. Pd Freight to London $1100
