Sunday July 9th Very hot all day. Hattie and I did not go out at all. Ivy and Dick went to Sunday School and church. She went to Marion in the afternoon and was interrupted about 8 o’clock by Allie. Add and Annie coming over. They stayed to tea. Did not go home until 10.

Monday July 10th Persistent wind all day, but pretty hot. Bill did not get to raking until after dinner. Ivy and I walked about the house and stable. Dr. Penman was well today.

Hubert and Burnett went to town. We got in 4 loads of hay. Work went on fine. It’s now 9:45. I am going to bed.

Tuesday 11th Hubert came over to help pick. After breakfast we went right to the field and got one big load in the stable. Hubert and Ivy mowed the big flat down. Bill and I raked in a second load which finished all we had cut. Bill then went out with the mower and I drove Hubert home and got some dinner. Hubert came.
