Sunday Aug 6th. Very hot day. We did all the chores. The girls went to church and all of us boys had dinner at Albert’s. Mr. Haskin and I came home and I did the chores. In the evening was having a bath when they came home. Dick stayed till noon to dine. We all went to bed about 10 o’clock and the boys came in shortly after tea. Rather good day to find something to eat.
Monday Aug 7th. Helped Hiram part of day. Looked after the cows and got the horse back from town with J. after dinner and ironed. We are all going to bed now at 9 o’clock.
Tuesday Aug 8th. Emery came over about 9 and helped Hiram draw in the barnyard by noon. After dinner they went to Emery’s and I worked the rest of the day. Tomorrow he said he will take Emery’s cow. Cloudy with sprinkles in the night.
Wednesday Aug 9th. Raked the hay over and came with Emery and we mowed the meadow. They were lying down pretty badly and about 4 o’clock sprinkles and we did not get them quite all up. Emery boarded at the station.
Thursday Aug 10. Worked with Emery at Slabole all forenoon and finished up the afternoon.
