Sat Aug 3. Started to rain about ten and continued gently a few hours. Would do good things were drying and bush fires in the North.
Sun Aug 4. A few light squals then clear and very cool. Mr Ashby's house burned at 4. AM. I went to church. Phyllis and Ruth came to Annies saturday night. At evening church. went to see the ruins at Mr Ashby's in the afternoon.
Mon Aug 5. Fine and very cool. "Civic Holiday" I went for a drive with Wylies in the afternoon and for a walk with Mrs Davidson in eve.
Tue Aug 6. Fine and bright cool. I took my watch to be looked at. Called to see {Dliee?} Sefton. down in afternoon and home early.
Wed Aug 7. Fine and a little warmer.
Thur Aug 8. Fine and moderately warm. light shower in the evening.
Fri Aug 9. Lizzie came to Annies and remained untill Saturday eve. went for a walk in the evening.
Sat Aug 10. Very warm and then came a heavy storm about 1.30. Struck {sraus?} former and lights out here. and Phones also. then a lighter storm in the evening. Eva Parkinson married at 4.30.
Sun AUg 11. A thunderstorm at night then clear I went to Church another light shower about one. then cleared and bright quite warm. for a walk in the evening.
Mon Aug 12. Fine bright and moderately warm. I called to see Mrs Ashby in the afternoon. Earthquake at 7.30. Daylight saving time.
Tue Aug 13. Fine bright and cool. I went to Toronto for watch $1.50. There was something broken. called at Miss McKinnons and she was out here for tea, got home before she left. Annie and girls down town in afternoon.
