== 1881. == 30 & 31 DAYS NOVEMBER & DECEMBER. 28 Monday at Uncle Williams thrashing the thrashing went well ran steady all day beautiful Winter's day and good slaying 29 Tuesday thawing so are sleighing is going drawing in turnips and a very pleasant day for the work got in remainder of largest pit in Orchard 10 loads so there will be about 22 loads in it now and it would hold more yet I hope we will now have some rest as far as drawing and turnips concerned the rest of the laboring man is sweet 30 Wednesday snow all gone and quite a mess this morning we were fixing root house roof putting shingles on under beam of stable filled space with mortar then drove the shingles up amongst it we put on three courses shingle top of spout and put El {illegible} on each side of it this has been a fine mild day and suited our work well one December Thursday the first day of the last month times ever on the wing gather up Lumber round root house and making order where chaos was before then banked up both ends and a little alongside with the Earth which came out of foundation afternoon shot up the top of mangle pit put sawdust in spout of root house clean three bus peas will he thrash today and plastered some cracks in the horse stable to use up some left mortar evening mended ceiling of kitchen which came down father made plaster today {illegible} two Friday plastered up some more cracks and stable had one bucket full of mortar took in potatoes one barrel and root house eight pails and Garrett afternoon took home some balsam trees father and Willie lifted at Beaver Meadow to plant at roadside then put five loads manure on Garden patch and plowed it in Father planted the balsams Fine Fresh day Saturday plowed land of sod as Garden was too small then Drew stones for Watering Place five loads which will make it all right I think afternoon split wood and banked up House Wheeling the Earth from the old barn find fresh day Willy was thrashing peas Sunday 2nd in Advent Mr Currie's last day Romans 5th and 8th the last thing you can get the natural man to believe is that God loves him notice first the objects of God's love unworthy you unworthy me God in us in our sin not on account of it but not withstanding found impatient Sinners waiting and willing to Pardon and provided a savior notice next the proof God has given of his love the gift of his dear son man will never get another and this is sufficient the text says he did for us willingly did in our room instead none of God's creatures could have taken our place nor manifested his great love God himself sacrifice for us 28.
