January, 1927.

14 Friday. Clear and cold. We butchered 2 pigs here for Grandpa Maurer. Grandpa, Grandma and Ezra Maurer were here all day and helped. Emerson Grove called this afternoon. Noah Miller and Walter Adler spent the evening here.

15 Saturday. Clear and very cold. 14 to 20 below zero this morning Addison & Harvey Reist were our callers.

16 Sunday. Cold. Snowflurries We went to church and to S. School this morning and rested, read and slept the rest of the day.

17 Monday. Milder. Ella did her washing this morning and Walter took her up to Grandma Krauter's where she is staying for a few days. Vernon had these callers at home here - Clarence Farncombe, John Maurer, Harvey Reist, and Norman Weigel.
