April, 1927
13 Wednesday. Clear, cold & windy Vernon was plowing this afternoon. Ella dug along the new garden fence and planted some rose bushes. Walter's callers - Geo. Bender, Ed. Bolender and Sam Thompson and Mr. Dunn.
14 Thursday. Clear and not quite as cold as yesterday. Walter shipped hogs at Elmira. Vernon took 5 pigs and a calf down to Elmira this morning They worked at the garden fence this afternoon. David Horst visited us this p.m. and Noah, Esther & Ruth Miller tonight.
15 Friday. Good Friday. Fine day. The men plowed the garden. Vernon brought a bouquet of hepaticas from the bush today. Ella was at a quilting at Grandpa's today and Vernon & Walter came down for supper too. Lawrence Doering of Chesterville, Ont. took us by surprise today and was here for dinner. He & Walter went to Quinn's sale for awhile this p.m.
