2 Monday. Lovely day and warmer. Ella did her washing. Walter went to Elmira this morning to pay the interest Vernon was cultivating this a.m. This afternoon they worked at the chicken house. Esther & Wesley called for some eggs. Tonight Walter went to a finance meeting at Ed. Bender's.

3 Tuesday. Cloudy with showers The men finished the brooder house and started the fire today. Ella dug a piece in the garden yesterday and planted some onions. Today she was doing up some apples.

4 Wednesday. Showery Morning Fine this afternoon. Walter dug a bed in the garden and Ella planted onions, beets, carrots, beans, nigella and marigold also planted her dahlia roots. This p.m. Vernon plowed and Walter was sowing grain. Noah Miller and Allen Wagner visited us tonight.
