July, 1927.
1 Friday. Intensely hot (60th. Anniversary of Confederation) Vernon scuffled the mangels this morning and went fishing this p.m. Walter & Ella went to the Union S.S. Picnic held in Wright's Grove at Conestogo.
2 Saturday. Not as hot as yesterday. The men were cutting thistles.
3 Sunday. Cloudy & cool. We went to Woolwich S.S. and church this morning and this afternoon we went to Heidelberg Children's Day Services. We were at Grandpa Krauter's for tea. Aunt Barbara (Alliance, Alberta), Aunt Fanny (Rochester, N.Y.), Aunt Lizzie (Hamilton) and Aunt Katie (Heidelberg) were there also a host of other company from Detroit, Hamilton, Naperville, etc.
Born - On July 3, to Mr & Mrs Lincoln Weaver a daughter - Lila Jean. (Betty)
4 Monday Fine and cool. The men hoed some of the mangels today and Vernon harrowed the corn this p.m. Ella picked berries in Schwindt's bush this p.m.
5 Tuesday. Lovely day. The men finished the mangels. Walter took grist to Floradale. Ella did washing and picked strawberries.
